Plot summary:

Tokunbo smuggles cars for Gaza but he is on his last job because his wife Lisa is about to give birth and he wants to be a responsible father.

Gaza stiffs him on the payment but Tokunbo cannot do much about it because Gaza is a very dangerous man.

18 months later, Tokunbo is a cab driver making the bare minimum but he needs cash because his son Chris is in the hospital and needs life-saving treatment.

He visits his uncle to borrow money but gets ignored. He approaches his friend Chukwudi but he says he doesn’t have the 9.5 million Naira needed.

He suggests going to Gaza for help but the local restaurant owner Iya Mulika tells him not to. She shares the story about how she borrowed money from Gaza but is still paying for it dearly.

Folashade Balogun-Smith is the new Governor of the Central National Bank and she wants to regulate the local crypto-trading companies which will benefit the economy.

She bids farewell to her daughter and then heads to the meeting with the chairmen of the companies to come to an agreement with them about her policies.

Her assistant Aziba makes sure she stays on schedule and is on top of all the things on her agenda.

Tokunbo visits Gaza who says that he doesn’t have the money to give. He then gets a phone call and talks about having the right man for the job.

Tokunbo leaves and later finds another cell phone in the backseat of his car. There are pick-up and delivery instructions with payment included and he follows them.

He soon realizes that these are illegal deliveries and eventually, a young, unconscious girl is put into his car and he is given strict delivery instructions.

When he contacts the person behind the job, they tell him that they have evidence of committing illegal jobs and frame him with evidence.

He is offered a huge sum of money, enough to take care of his family, if he completes the job. He is supposed to deliver the girl to the border within three hours and keep her sedated

The girl is Nike Balogun-Smith, Folashade’s daughter. She first accuses her ex-husband Bankole but he turns out to be innocent.

Her deputy governor Raymond calls to comfort her and she tells him that she trusts him to handle things while she deals with this situation.

Nike wakes up and tries to escape multiple times but Tokunbo catches and sedates her. She makes him crash his car so he borrows Chukwudi’s.

When Chukwudi realizes that the girl is Nike, he goes to the police and insists that Tokunbo is a nice guy who is doing a bad thing for some reason.

The kidnapper has Lisa and Chris taken hostage so that Tokunbo is motivated to do the job.

He calls Folashade and tells her that unless she postpones her address to announce the new policy, she will not see her child again.

Tokunbo agrees to let Nike stay awake and give her something to eat and drink if she cooperates. He tells her why he is in this position and she sympathizes with him.

The police have Tokunbo’s picture and set up roadblocks everywhere to catch him.

Ending explained:

The call is coming from inside

Chris was taken out of the hospital and connected to a crude life support system with Lisa tied up next to him.

It stops working and Chris dies. Lisa is beyond devastated and the kidnapper goes to check up on them but he is distracted.

He finds out that they are tracking Tokunbo and tells him to lose his phone but gets hung up on.

It is then revealed that the man behind the kidnapping is Raymond, and he is working with Aziba because they are in love with each other.

The plan collapse

Lisa manages to escape and calls Tokunbo to tell him that Chris is dead. He is overcome with grief and drives off a bridge with Nike in the car.

Folashade believes that her daughter is dead but the bodies are not found. An inspector overhears Aziba talking to Raymond and the two of them are promptly arrested.

Raymond says that he was just doing what is best for business but she had to be her stubborn self.

Another chance at life

Tokunbo swims out to the river banks with Nike who is also alive. He takes her to Iya Mulika and then sneaks into Gaza’s shop to steal a car.

Gaza catches him and tortures him to find out where Nike is. He was the one who accepted the job but Tokunbo messed it up for him.

Nike and Iya Mulika are brought in and Gaza is about to kill Tokunbo but is challenged to a one-on-one fight.

Tokunbo gets soundly beaten, although there is brief moment where he has the upper hand. Gaza is about to kill Tokunbo when Iya Mulika shoots him in the head from behind.

The police show up and Nike is reunited with her mother. Months later, things are back to normal and Tokunbo is hired to be Nike’s personal bodyguard.

He says that he and Lisa are doing well and that they are expecting a little one too.
