In the second season of Shahmaran, Şahsu and Shahmaran need to be sacrificed for the cycle to begin anew.
It is revealed that Çavgeş is the guardian of the cycle, not the prophecy. The cycle was set into motion by Shahmaran herself to maintain balance in the world.
The cycle is meant to repeat everything that has happened in the past to give humans continuous chances to rectify their mistakes.
Lilith breaks the cycle
Çavgeş tells Şahsu that for the cycle to continue, everything has to happen again, so Camsap and Shahmaran must reunite and go down below.
Going back to the beginning of it all would not only give humanity another chance to avoid past mistakes but also free Şahsu and Maran.
Shahmaran can only rise once Şahsu has passed the three trials. Şahsu’s third trial is to set her grandfather free. She comforts her grandfather and frees him from his burdens, leading to his death and Camsap’s return.
The success of the third trial results in the rise of Shahmaran. She reunites with Camsap and reveals that his immortality was meant to be a gift, not a punishment.
Shahmaran wishes to return to her garden with Camsap and grow old as mortals, just as they did before she was killed by the Sultan’s men.
However, before that can happen, Lilith, who seeks revenge on humanity and does not want to give them another chance, kills Camsap, breaking the cycle.
Sacrifices to restart the cycle
As there is no beginning to return to, all of Shahmaran’s sacrifices seem to be in vain. Shahmaran still remains determined to give humanity a chance to make things right.
She has no choice but to sacrifice herself and Şahsu to restart the cycle. Şahsu gets a chance to say goodbye to Maran before going down below.
Shahmaran, in Şahsu’s body, makes history repeat itself. She imprisons Lilith in the well again, while Maran becomes human after losing his snake seal.
Without his seal, Maran cannot accompany Şahsu to Shahmaran’s garden. However, he still intends to find Şahsu, something that both Shahmaran and Çavgeş expect him to do.
Maran finds the door to the garden, unaware that Mesut Gürmak, a powerful man who needs Shahmaran’s tail to cure his illness, is following him.
Maran inadvertently leads Mesut Gürmak to Shahmaran’s garden, just as Camsap did in the past. Shahmaran’s story repeats itself, signaling that the cycle has started again.
Maran is subdued by Mesut Gürmak’s men, and Shahmaran does not defend herself. She, placing her hope in humanity, leaves it to them to choose between greed, rage, and destruction or love and surrender.
Regardless of their choice, Shahmaran will not give up on them. Her love for humanity empowers her to keep waiting for them to make the right choice.
