Tek-Knight: Gen V character explained

Tek-Knight is the latest character to make the jump from The Boys comics to live-action with an appearance on Gen V. Derek Wilson portrays the character.

Robert Vernon went by the supe name Tek-Knight and he was an alumnus of Godolkin University. Like all the other supes, he was injected with Compound V as a child, giving him superhuman senses and superhuman deduction powers.

These abilities helped him pursue a career in crimefighting and solving mysteries as it is impossible for anyone to deceive him. Apart from the powers, Tek-Knight also uses a high-tech suit of armor.

He is also known for his work on screen in projects such as ‘Tek-Knight Lives’ and his true-crime series ‘The Whole Truth with Tek-Knight’. He lists out the many awards he has won when meeting some students and it is a substantial list.

In an earlier season, a woman talking in a support group mentions that Tek-Knight saved her but his efforts left her paraplegic, showing that he didn’t really care for her safety.

Just like all the others

Robert arrives at God U. for a special episode of his series that will focus on Luke’s death and what was the exact reason behind it. In reality. Vought sends him out whenever there is a scandal involving the corporation so that he can employ his smoke and mirrors and find someone else to take the blame.

He plans on pinning it on one of the students but when none of them appear to be good candidates to be a patsy, he trains his eyes on Dean Indira Shetty. He reveals that taking the blame for Luke’s death would be a better fate than whatever Vought would do when they find out that Sam escaped.

Robert decides to go against Indira Shetty and rues his decision

He says that she’s a simple human which makes her the perfect target, but she turns the tables on him not long after. She reveals that she is aware of his sexual psychosis caused by a brain tumor which means he can’t stop himself from having sex with any inanimate holes that he comes across.

Robert agrees to back off so that his secret is revealed.

In the comics

Robert Vernon in his suit of armor

Tek-Knight is one of the few heroes within the comics who doesn’t actually possess powers. He relies solely on his suit of armor and his sidekick, Laddio. The fact that he is just a human does differentiate him from other supes, although he still has his flaws.

He was considered a much nicer person than many other supes, but he suffered from the same psychosis, although his tumor was revealed only after his death by a falling wheelbarrow.

The character is meant to be a riff on Batman and Iron Man.
