Tara Shetty: Indian Police Force character explained

Tara Shetty is one of the main leads in Prime Video’s action drama series, Indian Police Force. Shilpa Shetty plays the character in the show.

One of the most prominent silhouettes in the narrative of the high-octane action drama affair that is the Indian Police Force belongs to Tara Shetty, a formidable police officer.

Determined as she is stubborn and unrelenting, Tara is also fearless and ferocious, ready to throw herself in harm’s way to get the results and take down the terrorists.

She gets the results

Tara Shetty is the chief of ATS Gujarat who has extensively followed and studied the serial blasts in Ahmedabad.

Her department, according to her, also relayed the warning to Delhi regarding similar incidents potentially occurring in the nation’s capital soon.

The blasts happen nonetheless and when a special cell is formed to contend with the threat of terrorism and prevent more bombings, she’s called in.

She becomes a part of the Delhi Special Cell, and shares crucial information which helps track down the location of Zarar and his fellow terrorists’ hiding spots.

She later goes on to lead the Delhi special cell, when Vikram ends up dead during a stand-off against Zarar, who manages to elude the police’s grasp.

Tara also has a knack for the fight, and she can take on a dozen all on her own.

During their operations in Goa, she goes toe-to-toe with Kabir and Rana in their fight against Goldie Rodrigues and his army of men.

She is also a mean shot and doesn’t shy away from a bout of Gun-fu. She takes out Unaiza, a sleeper cell, with a headshot while sliding on one knee.

Professionally, she is just as stubborn as Vikram and Kabir and doesn’t relent no matter what.

This habit of hers puts her at odds with Vikram, but it’s all playful banter at the end of the day.

They both have immense respect for each other and Vikram admires the fact that she’s such a good agent and gets results with such efficacy.

Bonds & relationships

Kabir Malik, a dear friend and longtime colleague of the late Vikram Bakshy, makes it his personal mission to hunt down Zarar.

Tara warns him to not make matters personal but he doesn’t share the same sentiment.

The two share a love-hate relationship, at least at the beginning, which is exactly like the relationship she shared with Vikram.

Tara Shetty and Vikram Bakshy, along with the third member of their trip from the past, met each other during their IPS training days at the academy.

Tara comes to be a lot warmer to Kabir later on and is shown to be similarly warm to her old friend Jagtap, whom she helps come back home after being cooped up in Bangladesh as an undercover agent for a long time.

Together with him, Kabir, and Rana, she plays a pivotal role in the nabbing of India’s most wanted terrorist, Zarar.

In her personal life, prefers to be single and makes it clear while discussing her love life with Kabir, who shares this trait of hers.
