Takumi Tsujimoto becomes a land swindler after his life is ruined by one. In Tokyo Swindlers, Gô Ayano plays Takumi.
Takumi is part of Harrison’s group of land swindlers. As he is a quick thinker, he acts as the negotiator in their dealings with their targets.
Takumi is the only person Harrison trusts. He seeks Takumi’s opinion on all his decisions, and Takumi never lets him down.
Whenever an unforeseen complication arises, Takumi takes charge of the situation and ensures that their fraud goes smoothly.
Devastating losses
Takumi’s father owned a small real estate company. Takumi, who worked as a sales representative, introduced him to a client who wished to sell a prime property to them.
The deal seemed suspicious to Takumi’s father, as the seller chose their company despite bigger companies offering better prices.
However, the scammer assured Takumi’s father that he was selling to them because Takumi had earned his trust, making Takumi’s father proud.
Later, Takumi and his father discovered that they had been scammed. They lost a significant amount of money as well as their company.
Takumi’s father was devastated and tried to kill himself and his family by setting their house on fire when Takumi was not home.
Tragically, Takumi’s mother, wife, and son died in the fire, while his father survived but was sentenced to prison. Takumi lost everything overnight.
He became a recluse. After not doing anything for two years, he ran out of money and became a driver for high-end sex workers.
One day, he drove a client to Harrison, who was hiring her services. Harrison killed Takumi’s client and then threatened Takumi, attempting to buy his silence.
Instead of taking the money, Takumi gave CPR to his client and resuscitated her. Harrison was impressed by Takumi and asked him to contact him.
He ended up taking Takumi under his wing and trained him. Takumi became a land swindler to find and take revenge on the man who scammed him and his father.
Even after five years of working with Harrison, Takumi remains unaware that it was Harrison who orchestrated the land fraud that ruined his life.
Betraying Harrison
Although Takumi is skilled at scamming people, he never takes pleasure in ruining lives like Harrison does. However, he does get deeply invested in their schemes.
He goes to great lengths to ensure that their scams are successful, even working for an escort to blackmail him into taking their target out of town.
Harrison aims to swindle a large corporation called Sekiyo House, and thanks to Takumi, his team manages to swindle the company out of billions of yen.
During this scam, Harrison kills several people, including members of his own team. Takumi realizes that Harrison uses people and then kills them when they are no longer useful.
Takumi is the only member of the team Harrison does not kill, as he is Harrison’s protégé. However, Takumi turns against him when he discovers Harrison’s involvement in ruining his family.
Takumi visits and pays all those who helped him pull off the scam before confronting Harrison, who shows no regret for the pain he caused Takumi and his family.
Takumi then tries to kill Harrison, but Harrison manages to escape. Takumi only survives because Kuramochi saves his life, leading to Takumi’s arrest.
Takumi now intends to fully cooperate with the police to help them catch Harrison, the man he holds responsible for the loss of his family.
