Oliver Tagaq is yet another Tsalal scientist Liz and Navarro get to know about. Lance Karmer plays Oliver Tagaq.
Oliver Tagaq was an equipment engineer working at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. However, he left right before Annie’s death.
Liz and Navarro hear his name from Annie’s friend, Susan, who is a hairdresser. She used to give haircuts to Tsalal men and had taken Annie along once.
Annie began dating Raymond Clark from Tsalal, while Susan was already dating Oliver Tagaq.
Susan reveals that the last time she heard of Oliver, he was somewhere out on the ice. She doesn’t think he is looking to be found.
Finding Oliver Tagaq is a difficult job, as there are no birth certificates, no school records, no taxes, or anything like that about him. However, Navarro manages to track him down.
Tagaq’s fate
Oliver Tagaq now lives in a secluded village. People there are protective of their place. Liz and Navarro do meet Tagaq, but he is incredibly hostile towards them.
Tagaq is surprised to learn that his ex-colleagues are dead. Unable to handle the news, he kicks Navarro and Liz out of his house.
After re-watching the last video of Annie found on Annie’s phone repeatedly, Liz notices that the lights in the video go out the same way the lights in Clark’s video on one of the Tsalal men’s phones go out.
In the video, Annie is in a cave, and Liz suspects that someone put a generator there. Liz thinks that Tagaq, who is an equipment engineer and has access to emergency generators, might be behind it.
Furthermore, Tagaq was quite defensive when they met him. Navarro and Peter head to meet Tagaq again.

Unfortunately, this time, they don’t find him in his cabin. The condition of the location looks much like that of the Tsalal Arctic Research Station.
Navarro and Peter come across the spiral sign again. The spiral sign is on a cardboard, which has a pebble with the same sign on it.
A villager reveals that Tagaq left a day after Liz and Navarro visited him.
