In Do Not Disturb, Suhal is an employee at the Komodor Hotel, where she works in the laundry. Ahsen Eroglu plays Suhal.
Suhal works the night shift at the Komodor Hotel. She is one of the reasons Metin’s mother is excited that her son is going to join this hotel. Both Suhal and Metin’s mothers want both of them to marry each other.
Suhal is crippled in one leg. She has a passion for art. Suhal is good at drawing and is pursuing a college degree in art. She already has an exam coming up at a university.
The tension between Suhal and Metin
Suhal hasn’t been living with her family for over a year now. Her family wants Suhal to marry Metin because they intend to help Metin’s family. Metin has been jobless for the past two years, and his mother is crying her tears out.
Suhal feels pity for Metin, but she is not ready for marriage. She thinks it’s a crazy idea and doesn’t like her mother pressuring her.
When it comes to Metin, the moment he meets Suhal, he realizes that she is way too pretty for him; she is out of his league. While he is a 50-year-old still trying to get a decent job, she is young and can have a bright future ahead of her.
Suhal is upfront about this and agrees with Metin that whoever thinks they are a good match, they are probably crazy.
Suhal’s fate at the end of the film
Throughout the night, Metin doesn’t lose hope that Suhal could be the one for him right away. However, Suhal continues to imply that they are not better off together. She constantly avoids conversations about their marriage.
It is hinted that Suhal is in love with someone else when Metin sees a call on Suhal’s phone. The name of the caller reads ‘My Love‘. Metin completely ruins his chances when he quotes Peri in front of Suhal, and she takes that quote as an insult to her disability.
At the end of Do Not Disturb, after taking Davut down, Metin gives Suhal her share of tips left by the guests, especially Davut, so that she can use the money for the school of art.
Suhal forgives Metin, and the two remain friends. Suhal meets Metin again on a bus and draws a sketch of him, as he had once asked her to do so.
