Sevgi decides to trace her father’s roots after discovering that her mother has been hiding the truth about him for years.
On the day of her wedding, Sevgi finds a letter written by her mother, Muko, confessing a secret she has kept from Sevgi her entire life.
Sevgi learns that the man she thought was her father is not actually her biological father. Instead, she is the daughter of a communist revolutionary named Aram.
Muko and Aram’s tragic story
In 1981, Muko falls in love with a man named Aram, the son of a goldsmith. Aram is a student in Istanbul and also works at a jewelry store near Muko’s father’s shop.
Muko’s father is a tailor, who disapproves of her relationship with Aram because of his involvement in revolutionary activities.
He threatens Muko to stay away from Aram, unaware that she is pregnant with Aram’s child. Muko fears that her father will force her to break up with Aram.
However, Aram is determined to be with Muko. He wants to take care of Muko and his unborn child, so he plans to elope with Muko.
Before they can get married, the jewelry store is robbed due to a conflict between the left and right, and Aram dies protecting his friends.
Knowing that her father will not support her, Muko tries to abort her child. However, Aram’s comrade stops her and promises to protect her and the baby.
Muko leaves home with Aram’s comrade, who keeps his promise and raises Muko’s daughter, Sevgi, as his own.
Yeram’s hope
Aram had written to his father about Muko. Unlike Muko’s father, Aram’s father, Yeram, was happy about Aram’s decision to marry Muko.
Yeram even traveled from his village to Istanbul to meet Muko, but by the time he arrived, Aram had died, and Muko had already left.
Yeram took his son’s body back to their village. He never left the village, hoping that one day Muko or his grandchild would come to visit him.
Years later, Sevgi learns that her father was a man named Aram. As she knows that she does not have long to live, she wishes to find her father’s grave.
With the help of a photograph that Muko has of Aram, Sevgi and her friends locate Aram’s village, where they meet Yeram.
Yeram’s wish to meet his grandchild finally comes true. He tells Sevgi about her father and gives her a gift he made for Muko and has kept safe all these years.
