Selene: The Wheel of Time season 2 character explained

Selene is an innkeeper who helps Rand settle into his new life following the events of season 1. The character is played by Natasha O’Keeffe.

Rand moves to Cairhien and stays in the Crescent Inn out in the foregate with Selene occasionally sleeping with him as a form of payment. He keeps his daily life a mystery from her and she doesn’t probe too much into it either.

After he kills a man and rushes back home riddled with guilt, Selene offers Rand some comfort and tells him that it’s all going to be alright.

A woman of means

She tells him about the Hunt for the Horn of Valere and the reward that comes with it, but Rand is distracted by another request. He asks her how he can get his hands on a very specific wine and she knows exactly where and how.

They sneak into a party of nobles where they are the main attraction thanks to the fact that no one knows who they are. Rand gets the wine but is also appalled when he finds out that there is no actual reward for the hunt.

He leaves Selene behind at the party and when he returns that night, she sternly tells him that he should never leave her alone like that again.

While passionately making love, Rand begins to channel and is worried that he might hurt Selene but she tells him that isn’t afraid.
