Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is about Sandy Cheeks and Spongebob traveling to her hometown in Texas. The film is streaming on Netflix.

Plot summary:
Sandy Cheeks is enjoying another day making observations in Bikini Bottom when a giant claw drops into the ocean.
She saves Spongebob but the rest of Bikini Bottom including Mr. Krabs, Patrick, and Squidward is scooped up.
Sandy notices that the claw belongs to the B.O.O.T.S Laboratory in Galveston, Texas. That is the lab that she works for but she tries to contact her colleagues, Kyle and Phoebe, but she is cut off.
There is a message announcing that the lab has been acquired by ‘Gushing Waters Water Parks’ and a mention of something called ‘Seapals’.
With no idea why Bikini Bottom would have been picked up, Sandy and Spongebob have no other choice but to head to Galveston themselves.
They manage to get out of the ocean and on a flight to Texas, but when they approach the lab in Texas, they are picked up by a twister and sent flying.
Sandy and Spongebob land miles away from Galveston and are forced to walk the rest of the way.
Bikini Bottom is kept inside an orb in the lab where Kyle and Phoebe observe it. They notice that Spongebob and Sandy are missing and their boss isn’t thrilled.
Sue Nahmee is the CEO of Gushing Waters and she has a special plan for the creatures of Bikini Bottom.
She wants to clone them and sell them as ‘Seapals’ for children to play with and she hopes to profit heavily from the sales.
Meanwhile, a posse of rattlesnakes ambush Sandy and Spongebob, so she uses her traditional family whistle to call the Cheeks family.
Her family has a circus act and they travel around in a beat-up jalopy. The whistle summons them and they fight off the snakes.
Pa, Ma, Granny, Randy, Rowdy, and Rosie all welcome Sandy back to Texas and she tells them that they need to get to Galveston as soon as possible.
Along the way, Sandy remembers how fun it is to stay with her family and Spongebob learns more about Sandy’s family.
Sue tests out her experiment on Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs. She feeds them special food that allows them to breathe in the air.
Then they call in some children as a focus group to test their popularity.
The Cheeks family is close to Galveston when they are chased by a police officer. They hitch a ride on a twister and soon it turns into a high-speed chase.
Spongebob and Sandy break off and finally reach the Gushing Waters Water Park. They search for the lab somewhere on the premises but are chased by Sue’s dog, Cuda.
They travel through the sewers and eventually reach the lab. Sandy comes face to face with Sue who explains her plan.

Backstory
As a young girl, Sue’s dream was to have a fishy pet and cuddle with it but she never could because the creature would die outside the water.
She loved underwater life so much that she traveled the world and spent time with fish underwater.
During one trip to Peru, she fell fowl to a piranha and then revealed her robot body to everyone else.
She wants to make her childhood dreams come true with Seapals.
The fightback
Sandy is caged while Spongebob is placed in the cloning machine to see if it is working. Sue says that once the clones are made, the original will disappear.
Spongebob turns into several tiny versions of himself and once the process is done, Sue tells them to wait till the clones reach normal size.
Sandy asks Kyle and Phoebe why they are working for Sue and they don’t have a good excuse.
They help Sandy fight back against Sue and succeed in splitting her head from her body. Her head is swallowed by her mutant fish and she somehow remains alive.
Going home
During the fight, the orb is cracked the water starts spilling out. Sandy needs to get them back into the ocean and tries to call for her family.
She lost a tooth and her whistle is ineffective but Spongebob summons them. They try to roll the orb themselves but it is too big.
Sandy then uses her scientific knowledge to create a superconductor that will make their task easier.
They fire the orb into the sky and land back in the spot where Bikini Bottom belongs. A few days later, the Cheeks family performs a circus show for the residents of Sandy’s second home.
