Plot summary:

Stephane has been elected as President but he soon learns that many people do not want him there.

He is informed of threats against his life by Alice, his head of security. She is also new to the job as he predecessor quit with his whole team upon Stephane’s election.

Yasmine reminds him that he needs a solid party to back him in the legislative elections so his best option is to pick Corrine as his prime minister.

She agrees to his offer under the condition that she gets to enact many of her policies as well.

William is trying to get back in Stephane’s good graces but his cowardice is well-known at this point and he is turned away.

The public accuses Stephane of not having a clear platform or agenda besides his “eat well, for free” policy.

He also tries to convince Marion to move to the Elysee with him but she is not interested in being the first lady.

William convinces Marion that being by Stephane’s side at the Elysee is the right thing to do. She agrees, as long as she gets to work on social causes close to her heart.

Stephane announces that Corinne will be his prime minister during his inauguration. Mo spots a suspicious-looking man and kidnaps him, only to later realize that he’s the Norwegian ambassador.

They have no choice but to ask William for help and negotiate with Norway to keep the issue under wraps. They agree to keep quiet if Stephane agrees to meet their queen.

He tells everyone else that he is going to confront her about her environmental policies, but the Queen has all the leverage because of Mo’s gaffe.

Lamine gets a job in the palace kitchen as part of his community service but he is constantly late. He blames it on his lengthy commute so Stephane comes up with a new proposal.

His “live together” proposal would use unoccupied apartments in high-rent areas for low-income residents who want to live closer to their workplaces.

Not everyone is happy with the plan but he does agree to try out the policy in Paris first. Marion gets a very good-looking bodyguard but Mo assures Stephane that he’s gay so Stephane has nothing to worry about.

However, Yasmine tells Mo that the guard is very much straight. During a garden party to celebrate his new policy, Stephane’s father is poisoned.

He was the target and the culprit was one of the palace staff who told Stephane to “go back where came from”.

Stephane’s father is in a coma at the hospital, but he has to focus on the Queen’s visit. Corinne and Yasmine want him to be tough with her, but William knows the truth.

He tells Stephane that he needs to offer her some fighter jets or weapons to win her silence. She humiliates Stephane during the visit and gets much more than she bargained for due to Stephane’s incompetence.

Marion suggests a ‘Beke tax’ in Guadalupe for people who benefited from the abolition of slavery and she heads to the West Indies with her bodyguard to explore its feasibility.

Corinne resigns as prime minister after Stephane makes the deal with the Queen so he approaches Andrei to be his prime minister instead.

Meanwhile, Fred Cognard is mobilizing the public against Stephane. When Marion goes missing, Stephane travels to Guadalupe with Desire since he knows the area.

Mo checks the CCTV footage of the hotel and finds that Marion slept with her bodyguard. He tells William who keeps this hidden from Stephane.

Desire finds out that Marion was kidnapped by the Beke who are opposed to her tax and Stephane goes there to negotiate.

They meet their leader who is unapologetically racist and puts forth his conditions. Andrei is back home conspiring with the head of the military about a coup.

He orders a military operation to “save” Marion but tells the soldiers that it isn’t the worst thing if the President gets caught in the crossfire.

Stephane escapes with Marion and his team and comes out looking better after implementing his ‘eat well, for free’ policy there on trial funded by the ‘Beke tax’.

Andrei finds out about Marion’s affair and uses it to pressure Stephane into resigning. Stephane considers it but Marion leaks the pictures of the affair herself to remove Andrei’s leverage.

Andrei meets Fred and tells him to take on Stephane on live television. Stephane and Marion are interviewed that evening and they speak the truth.

Then Fred is invited to have a dialogue with Stephane but he is only interested in getting a reaction out of the President.

William steps in to remind everyone that Fred was exposed for beastiality just a few weeks ago but Stephane sends him away.

He offers Fred the post of Prime Minister if he thinks he can do a good job for the people, but Fred chickens out.

Seeing this on television, his supporters lose patience and storm the Elysee.

Ending explained:

His evil master plan

As rioters storm the palace, Alice rushes Stephane and his team to the safety bunker. They contact Andrei to tell him they are safe and need a way out.

Andrei speaks to the chief of the military and tells him that the President ordered that the military fire on “peaceful” protestors.

They go on television to condemn the president for his order, even though Stephane never gave it. Andrei is ready to take control and begins the process of impeachment for high treason.

Finding an escape route

The military reaches outside the bunker and tells Stephane to surrender himself. He agrees as long as his family and team are spared.

He does ask for more time, but Lamine sneaks into the bunker through an air vent. It gives them a chance to escape, while William stays behind.

Andrei tells the soldiers to blow the door open but they only find William, who refuses to tell them where Stephane is.

Stephane and the others come across some garbage workers who agree to help him hide because they still believe in him.

They take him to an apartment five minutes away from the palace because they got it through his ‘live together’ policy.

Standing together against division

Andrei enacts a state of emergency in Paris until Stephane is found, but many regular people still stand behind the president.

Stephane decides to speak up for himself and goes live to spread his message. He denies ordering the military to fire on protestors and accuses Andrei of trying to tarnish his image.

The soldiers are sent to detain him but he asks the French people to stand by him and against the divisive policies of Andrei who only cares about power.

He is aggressively taken in as Marion and the others escape because Stephane asked them to be safe.

He promises the people that he will be back stronger and prevail.
