Radovid: The Witcher season 3 character explained

Radovid is the brother of King Vizimir of Redania who appears to be a very loose and carefree person but actually has some great instincts. The character is played by High Skinner.

King Vizimir becomes frustrated with Dijkstra’s failure to bring him Ciri so he decides to put his younger brother, Radovid, on the job. Dijkstra and Phillipa discuss who has to babysit the young prince and Phillipa draws the short straw.

When Phillipa meets Jaskier to sway him, Radovid steps in and does a good job of sowing doubt in his mind and convincing him that Redania would be a good place for Ciri to settle down.

Phillipa realizes that Radovid does have some cunning to him and might not be as useless as they assumed.

A budding romance

Jaskier meets with Radovid and Phillipa and tells them that they need to get rid of Rience before he convinces Ciri that she should go to Redania.

He visits Radovid during one of his parties later and tells him what they learned from Codringher and Fenn and Radovid asks him to sing a song for everyone there.

Jaskier sings and Radovid is enamored by the bard. When Jaskier discusses his interactions with Radovid, Vespula tells him that he has a crush on the prince.

Radovid and Jaskier and smitten with each other

Radovid is sent to Aretuza along with Dijkstra and Phillipa and he tries to find Jaskier but is knocked back by the protection spell placed on the door.

Jaskier heads out and meets Radovid in the room nearby where the two of them accept that they’re attracted to one another and spending the night together.

Too big for his shoes

Even though Phillipa sees him show some talent, Dijkstra doesn’t believe Radovid is worth keeping around and is dismissive of him. Radovid tries to get under Dijkstra’s skin by showing that the spymaster is losing his touch.

He shares the information that he got from Jaskier and then tells Dijkstra that Vizimir has been taking secret meetings with Nilfgaard, something Dijkstra was unaware of.

Dijkstra wishes to regain control over the king so he has the queen beheaded and that head is delivered to Vizimir in a box. It is brought in by Radovid whose manservant received it and it also has a note from Nilfgaard taking credit.
