Plot summary

When First Lieutenant Ludovic Bruno, also known as Ludo, goes missing, his partner, Léo Leiman, begins searching for him, despite orders from her captain, Hernandez, to stop.

Léo questions Ludo’s informant, Bat, who is a hacker, but he is unable to provide any useful information. She is later informed that Ludo was killed in Hamburg.

A German detective is appointed to investigate Ludo’s death, and Hernandez instructs Léo to focus on the security of the upcoming climate summit.

Petrol Global is hosting this international summit on fossil fuels in the Riviera, which will be attended by the famous climate activist, Sima Scott.

However, Léo disobeys orders and continues to investigate Ludo’s death. She breaks into Ludo’s apartment and encounters Mélanie, the German detective in charge of the case.

Not wanting Mélanie to interfere in her work, Léo sends her to a hostile informant. Surprisingly, Mélanie manages to extract valuable information from him.

The informant tells Mélanie about a real estate mogul named Cassati, who is connected to influential people, and Mélanie concludes that Ludo was investigating Cassati.

Ludo must have gone to Hamburg in connection with his investigation into Cassati, a man who owns half the Riviera and is a major investor in the climate summit.

Meanwhile, Léo starts working closely with Bat, who starts providing her with useful information and convinces her to train him, as he aspires to become a police officer.

When Mélanie shares her findings with Léo, both women investigate Cassati on their own because Léo refuses to work directly with Mélanie, who is very different from her.

Léo also convinces Hernandez that Mélanie’s investigation might displease Cassati and the summit’s guests, leading Hernandez to ask Mélanie to stop investigating.

Mélanie then confesses to Léo that she was Ludo’s girlfriend, but she does not reveal that she is not German and that she works for the Paris police.

Mélanie had assigned an incompetent German detective named Zimmer to officially investigate Ludo’s death while she pretended to be him to conduct her own investigation.

She also reveals to Léo that she collected materials from Cassati’s house and found traces of explosive chemicals, which convinces Léo to finally work with her.

The next day, Léo, Mélanie, and Bat decide to sneak into Cassati’s house for clues. At the same time, a man named Zako sends two henchmen to kill Cassati.

Léo and Mélanie try to save Cassati but fail; he is gravely injured. They barely manage to escape from the sniper who killed Ludo in Hamburg.

Mélanie now considers Léo her friend, but Léo does not reciprocate the feeling. Additionally, Léo and Bat begin to develop feelings for each other, but Léo does not get the chance to confess her feelings.

Ending explained:

The plot to assassinate Sima Scott

With Bat’s help, Mélanie discovers that Zako, an ex-KGB operative involved in illegal activities, was responsible for the attack on Cassati.

Zako lives in Hamburg, which suggests a possible connection to Ludo’s death. It turns out that Zako and Cassati were both involved in a plot to assassinate Sima Scott.

Due to a fallout between them, Zako decided to eliminate Cassati. Zako’s task now involves providing Frédéric Valence, the director of communications for Sima, with an electric car rigged with a bomb.

Frédéric Valence is working alongside Kim, the sniper who killed Ludo and is now targeting Mélanie and Léo, as well as two corrupt officers, Laura and Gustavo.

They are all paid by Petrol Global to assassinate Sima and make her death look like an accident. The plan is to make Sima travel in the car provided by Zako after the summit.

The bomb in the car would kill her, but it would remain undetected, making it appear as if a malfunction in the electric car caused the explosion.

Discovering Valence’s plans

When Hernandez discovers that Mélanie lied about her identity, she informs Léo. As Léo has been disobeying her orders, she instructs her to stay out of the summit’s security and stay out of trouble until it is over.

However, Léo and Mélanie continue their investigation. They rescue Bat, who had gone to spy on Zako and witnessed Valence picking up the car with the bomb.

Unfortunately, Bat fails to recognize Valence and does not realize that the car he took was rigged with explosives. Before Léo and Mélanie can get Zako to confess, he is killed by Kim.

Bat, Léo, and Mélanie manage to escape from Kim once again. Using Zako’s phone, Bat discovers that the people he had been contacting are at the summit venue.

Mélanie gains entry to the summit and spots Kim talking to Valence. Bat then looks into his recent transactions, leading him, Léo, and Mélanie to uncover Valence’s association with Petrol Global.

Saving the day

Kim notices Mélanie and kidnaps her before Mélanie can arrest her or question Valence. She holds Mélanie captive on a boat.

Kim then confesses to Mélanie that she and Valence were hired to kill Sima and admits to murdering Ludo, unaware that Bat has hacked the cameras and recorded her confession.

Bat then guides Léo to rescue Mélanie. Together, Léo and Mélanie defeat Kim and rush to the summit to save Sima’s life.

Laura and Gustavo, tired of being double agents, point Léo and Mélanie to the car with the bomb. Sima is already in the car, and the bomb has been activated.

With Bat’s help, Léo and Mélanie manage to get Sima out of the car just in time. They must now take the car away from the city before the bomb explodes.

Léo, Mélanie, and Bat drive the car to a cliff and jump out just in time, surviving the explosion. Léo then acknowledges Mélanie as her best friend and kisses Bat.

Later, Mélanie and Léo attend Ludo’s memorial service and comfort each other. The summit is deemed a success, thanks to the efforts of Mélanie, Léo, and Bat.

With the evidence Bat has against Valence, the police are able to charge him. Bat is then hired to work in the police IT department.

Léo is also promoted to police chief. Furthermore, Léo and Mélanie have become close friends; their bond is similar to the bond Léo once shared with Ludo.
