Mo Gi-jun: The Impossible Heir character explained

Mo Gi-jun is an antagonist in The Impossible Heir who has been working for In-ha. Kwon Hyuk plays Gi-jun.

After Tae-oh successfully gets the chairman to acknowledge In-ha as his son, he is attacked by an unknown assailant.

When In-ha prevents the police from investigating the case and catching the culprit, Tae-oh takes matters into his own hands.

He gets the chairman’s permission to get to the bottom of it and soon discovers that his assailant is none other than Gi-jun.

On paper, Gi-jun holds the position of a team leader at Kangoh Security, but in reality, he works as a secretary for In-ha’s half-brother, In-ju.

However, what Tae-oh fails to realize is that Gi-jun did not attack him under In-ju’s orders; there is someone else to whom Gi-jun is more loyal.

In-ha’s loyal friend

Gi-jun’s mother, Bae Yeong-eun, was an employee at Kang Villa. Twenty-two years ago, when Gi-jun was ten years old, his mother died in a hit-and-run accident.

For the next seven years, he lived with In-ha and attended school with him until eventually moving to Seoul.

He then ended up joining the Kangoh Group with In-ju’s help, but it came at a cost. In-ju never treated Gi-jun with the dignity of an employee.

Even years later, In-ju continues to subject him to mistreatment, abusing him both mentally and physically.

Gi-jun is forced to comply with In-ju’s demands, and it stops only when In-ju dies. It is then revealed that Gi-jun had been secretly working with In-ha.

Gi-jun and In-ha are good friends, which is why Gi-jun has been spying on Tae-oh and Hye-won for In-ha.

Gi-jun gathers evidence of Hye-won’s infidelity with Tae-oh, and on In-ha’s orders, he gives it to In-ju, who uses it to blackmail Tae-oh.

In-ha and Gi-jun have a plan to get rid of both In-ju and Tae-oh together. On the night In-ju forces Tae-oh to use drugs, Gi-jun kills In-ju.

Tae-oh, who was under the influence of drugs, is not able to recall the events of that night and is framed for the murder.

Gi-jun’s testimony proves Tae-oh guilty

Gi-jun then testifies against Tae-oh, resulting in Tae-oh receiving capital punishment. He proves that he is loyal to In-ha over and over again.

On the other hand, he does not value the loyalty of others. When his loyal associate, Roy, who was involved in In-ju’s murder, is caught by Tae-oh’s hacker, Gi-jun does not hesitate to kill him.

Gi-jun has no qualms about doing In-ha’s dirty work for him, including committing murders, unaware that both the chairman and Tae-oh have discovered his association with In-ha.
