Plot summary:

Captain Kang Mi-Seon is a detective of the major crime unit of the police while her husband Park Kang-Mu takes care of the household.

He dotes on her because she barely takes care of herself. Mi-Seon is highly dedicated to her work and has an incredible success rate.

Kang-Mu is an ideal househusband who sees her every need and is a very loving and kind individual.

During the day, he drives children to and from school while Mi-Seon captures criminals. Her team consists of Hyung Sang-ung, Hun-Ki, and Dong-Su.

After taking down a drug operation, their next case is the attack on a woman who fell from a rooftop and was then shot.

She survived, but Mi-Seon tells her people to inform the press that she died since she might still be a target.

The woman is unconscious because of her injuries so Mi-Seon starts investigating the trading company she was a part of.

Before she was attacked, the woman hid a USB drive filled with sensitive information inside a locker.

While Kang-Mu is out buying groceries, he sees a woman being chased by several men and recognizes her.

He goes to help her and exhibits expert combat knowledge. The woman’s name is Jang Hee-Ju and shares a past with Kang-Mu.

Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju worked as agents for the Defense Intelligence Command and during a mission in Russia, one of their fellow agents was killed.

The case is taken out of their hands and Kang-Mu is relieved from duty because he went on an unsanctioned mission.

Hee-Ju says that her husband and their former colleague Kim Jung-San are missing but asks Kang-Mu not to get involved.

Hun-Ki and Dong-Su spot Kang-Mu with her and assume he is cheating on Mi-Seon. They tell Hyung but Mi-Seon overhears them and tells them that’s ridiculous.

Her investigations into the trading company reveal that all of the employees were attacked in recent weeks, and there is no sign of the boss, Kim Jung-San.

Kang-Mu meets Hee-Ju and asks her what she has gotten herself involved in. She says that Kim Jung-San was kidnapped and she received something in the mail recently.

Hun-Ki and Dong-Ku get pictures of Kang-Mu and He-Ju together, so Mi-Seon has no choice but to confirm if her husband is having an affair.

Meanwhile, they check the surveillance footage of the locker facility and spot Jung-San. Her case and whatever Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju are involved in seem to be connected.

Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju meet a source at a hotel, and Mi-Seon follows them with Hyung for support.

They do not confirm that he’s having an affair since they have to leave early. The source tells Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju what Jung-San was working on.

A person given the alias ‘General Park’ was involved in an illegal defense procurement scam and Jung-San decided to investigate with his team.

This case is connected to the mission in Russia that Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju were involved in. The USB contained the account files holding the slush fund which needed to be laundered and sent to the corrupt officials.

General Park is after that USB but Jung-San has it hidden, which is why he was kidnapped.

Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju find out where Jung-San is being tortured and they plan a rescue mission.

Mi-Seon still has no clarity on Kang-Mu and Hee-Ju’s relationship and wonders if her husband fell out of love and why. She also has Kang-Mu’s phone cloned to track him.

Kang-Mu infiltrates the mental facility where Jung-San is and gets him out of there to a doctor that he knows.

Hee-Ju says she will meet him there. The woman in the hospital wakes up and tells Mi-Seon about her team investigating the illegal procurement fund.

They also find footage of Jung-San’s kidnapping in which Mi-Seon spots Hee-Ju in the background.

Ending explained:

The double cross

General Park is arriving at an underground bunker and the man who gave Hee-Ju and Kang-Mu the information is there.

Hee-Ju turns out to be General Park and she conspires with the others to steal three trillion Won.

She planned the rescue so that Jung-San would tell Kang-Mu the location of the USB when he felt safe.

The doctor is working for her and has a recording device in the operating room. Jung-San tells Kang-Mu that the USB is hidden at his safe house.

Mi-Seon gets the location too and rushes there at the same time as Hee-Ju’s men. Hee-Ju tells her people to eliminate anyone else involved.

Finding their way to each other

The doctor tries to kill Jung-San but he fights him initially. He calls Kang-Mu and asks him what set him on the rescue mission.

Kang-Mu says that it was to help him and his wife Hee-Ju, but Jung-San says that she disappeared soon after he was discharged.

The doctor wakes up and shoots Jung-San, and a truck runs into Kang-Mu’s van.

Mi-Seon battles with Hee-Ju’s right-hand man and grabs the USB. She copies it onto Kang-Mu’s phone and destroys the original USB.

She is captured and taken to the medical facility to be tortured. Hee-Ju has someone at Kang-Mu’s hospital bed and threatens to kill him unless Mi-Seon gives up the files.

She tells them that it is on Kang-Mu’s phone and after they get the files, Hee-Ju orders her men to kill Kang-Mu and his wife.

Kang-Mu fights off the assassin and rushes to the medical facility to save his wife. He drives through the wall in a truck and gets her out of there.

A mission together

After getting away, Kang-Mu explains that he was unsure of how to tell her about his past and she says that she would have understood because that is what marriage is.

They make up with each other and then go after Hee-Ju. They gear up and head to the bunker where Hee-Ju is transferring the funds.

They sneak into the bunker and make their way to the electrical room to turn off the power.

The transfer is reset and Hee-Ju is forced to escape from there. Mi-Seon and Kang-Mu go after her and after a prolonged fight, get their hands on the files.

The military is waiting for them outside as they hand over the files. They are taken in for their involvement, but six months later the couple is working missions together.
