Mea Harper is successful when it comes to her professional life, but her personal life is in constant crisis.
Regularly, Mea has to deal with her in-laws, who are controlling and hate her a lot. Somehow, Mea tolerates them and gets through life.
Problems with Kal and his family
Mea is married to Kal, the man she loves. Unfortunately, it’s not the fairytale she dreamed of.
Mea and Kal are currently going through a rough patch and have even opted to try couple counseling. Kal’s relationship with a childhood friend of his, Jenna, is bothering Mea.
Though Kal claims that she is just a childhood friend, they have been seen sitting and holding hands together.
Kal is also jobless as of now, and it’s Mea who is running their house. Kal’s family doesn’t know that Kal is jobless. They think Kal is nice, and it’s Mea who is the problem in their family.
Kal’s mother, Azalea, doesn’t even hesitate to express that she wishes Jenna were her daughter-in-law.
Kal and Mea can never have a great relationship because Kal cares more about his mother than anyone else, and his mother will always be a part of their relationship.
When Kal’s family decides for Mea that she should not pick up Zyair’s case, Mea stands up to them by doing the opposite.
Mea’s fate at the end of the film
Mea grows close to Zyair while working with him, and when she sees a picture sent by her private detective of Kal entering a hotel room with Jenna, Mea loses her calm.
Mea commits the mistake of sleeping with Zyair. She later regrets it when she finds out that Kal’s whole family shifted to a place near the hospital because Azalea wasn’t feeling well.
However, in the end, Zyair Malloy’s case and even Azalea’s illness turn out to be set up by Ray and Azalea. They intend to punish Zyair for sleeping with Ray’s wife, Charlise.
Ray is already using Azalea’s illness to get sympathy from the people as he plans to become mayor. He now looks forward to sending Zyair to prison and further pushing his mayoral campaign by becoming a hero in the public’s eye.
Mea escapes Ray and Azalea and finds Kal, but it turns out that Kal is in this with them. When Kal expresses that he should have listened to his brother and beat Mea up to get her in line, Mea realizes why she fell for Zyair.
Unlike her husband, Zyair is a real man. Hence, her relationship with Kal didn’t work. She plays smart and causes an accident to escape Kal.
Mea is able to bring Kal’s family’s crimes to light and relieve Zyair of all charges. However, she chooses not to be with Zyair at the end of the film.
