Plot summary:

Everyone is attending Mariam’s funeral but a bomb goes off and the authorities are stumped as to who is responsible.

Mike goes to Bunny and asks if it was him but he denies it. Then he heads to the Aryans because they need someone to blame for the attack.

Konstantin Noskov arrives in Kingstown to handle business now that Milo is gone. He is suspicious of Tatiana and kills her along with all of Milo’s supporters.

Robert and his team hit an Aryan stronghold after Mike gets the location but it escalates drastically and the entire place is blown up.

Evelyn still believes that Robert shouldn’t be an officer and is looking for any way to take him down even though Mike asks her to back off.

After the hit, Merle Callahan transfers to Kingstown to oversee the Aryan Brotherhood’s business, and he has a past with Mike that gives him leverage.

Kareem is trying to maintain control within the prison and new guards are hired to help. One of them is Kevin Jackson, Bunny’s man on the inside.

Iris has been staying with Kyle and Tracy and helping her out, but when Konstantin shows up, she visits him because she knows him well.

She asks Mike and Ian if she can go undercover and be their mole within the Russians. Ian meets Charlie in prison often and wants to find out where more of his victims are buried.

A conflict breaks out between the Russians and the Crips after Bunny’s drug supply is poisoned. Iris informs Mike that the Aryan Brotherhood is working with the Russians.

Konstantin contacted Merle to negotiate a mutually beneficial partnership between the two factions.

Bunny gets more reckless and it is up to Mike to keep him on a leash but Mike can only keep him on a leash for so long before Bunny gets impatient.

Bodies drop all around town as a gang war rages on inside the prison and out. Meanwhile, Konstantin believes that Milo is still alive, and gets high to numb his feelings.

Kyle joins SWAT and gets to see Robert up close. He is convinced that Robert shouldn’t be on the street but there is nothing any of them can do about it.

Tracy goes back to working at the women’s prison hospital and when she sees that Cherry is pregnant, she suspects that a guard raped her.

When she starts digging into who it might have been, a CO named William Breen threatens her with harm if she doesn’t let the issue go.

She goes to Mike for help and he beats him up before getting him to transfer to a different prison.

Merle wants to take control of the drug business and pushes Mike to pressure Bunny but Mike does his best to remain on the fence.

As a show of good faith, Bunny returns some of the weapons they stole, but he accumulates an entire arsenal of military-grade weapons for the war.

When Rhonda is killed in a drive-by shooting, Bunny hits back. Kevin helps them identify where Merle is inside and they fling a grenade to take him out.

He manages to survive and is taken to the hospital for treatment. Raphael escapes while he is at court and meets up with Bunny.

Mike sets a deal with Evelyn to have Raphael turn himself back in. He also makes a plan with Bunny to kill Merle at the hospital, but that plan fails.

Konstantin’s paranoia is through the roof and he offers Iris a chance to disappear but she doesn’t want to leave.

He sends Roman to collect the documents he made for her escape, but Milo reveals himself and kills Roman.

Mike has Konstantin believe that they are working together to get rid of Bunny, but he’s on Bunny’s side in this equation.

During one of their trips to find one of Charlie’s victims, he mentions Ben Morrissey so Ian kills him and claims self-defense.

The attack on the prison jeopardizes Kareem’s position and the department urges him to resign or they will fire him themselves.

Ending explained:

The wheels in motion

The plan is for Bunny’s men to lead the Russians to an ambush spot. The Russians believe that they are the ones carrying out the ambush.

When Roman’s body is found, Konstantin’s fear that Milo is alive is deepened. Evelyn looks into Ian’s relationship with Charlie following his death.

She suspects that there must be a connection to Morrissey’s death and she will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Robert says that if Evelyn doesn’t back down, he will do what is necessary to keep her quiet.

Konstantin and Iris return to the boat and find Milo waiting for them. Kareem goes over the CCTV footage and discovers that Kevin is the mole.

He warns him that Bunny will cast him aside once he’s served his purpose. He then calls his family and has a conversation with them before meeting his fate.

The chips begin to fall

Kareem walks into the Aryan’s section within the yard and faces up to them. He is ready to accept whatever happens as he is overridden with the guilt and trauma of his actions.

The guards rush to support him but by the time they get there, Kareem is shanked to death.

As the Crips get to the bridge, the Russians make their move and a firefight takes place right there with several civilians in the middle.

The police come in from both sides and SWAT moves in to take control of the situation. Kyle spots one of the civilians with a gun, but they claim it is to protect their son who is in the car with them.

He moves on, but when Robert spots them he gets aggressive. Kyle asks him to calm down but he doesn’t so Kyle shoots him.

Old enemies

Milo tells Iris to call Mike and get him to come to the boat. Mike tells Ian that Milo is alive and then rushes over there.

Once he arrives, Milo puts forward his demands. He wants things the way they were back when Mitch was around so that he can profit from Kingstown.

He gives Iris a chance at a new life, only if she kills Konstantin. She has no choice and shoots Konstantin in the head.

Ian shows up and Mike uses the distraction to take Milo down. Ian leaves with Iris while Mike kills Milo with a bullet to the head.

The dust settles

Kyle is arrested for shooting another officer, although Robert does survive. Mike asks Evelyn to let him go but she says she has no choice.

Ian tells him that there were witnesses so everything points to Kyle willingly shooting Robert.

Iris gets on a bus and takes something soon after getting into her seat. When the bus stops for a break, the conductor finds Iris dead from an overdose.

She presumably didn’t want to live on with the guilt of what she had done or be away from Mike because she loved him deeply.

Mike drives up to his cabin to get away from the stress that he’s been through and prepare himself for the storm that is coming.
