Mavin: Master of the House character explained

Mavin becomes his father’s heir through deceit, but he does not get to keep that position for long. In Master of the House, Thanavate Siriwattanagul plays Mavin.

Mavin is the younger son of Roongroj, the president of Theva Gems. He wants to inherit the company from his father, but despite his best efforts, he fails to please his father.

Roongroj does not consider Mavin worthy and often belittles him, leading to Mavin’s lack of love and respect for his father.

Outwitting Phupat

Unlike his older brother, Phupat, who has been his biggest competitor since childhood, Mavin does not believe in simply working hard to prove his worth.

Instead, Mavin grew up lying and cheating to win against Phupat, and he often succeeded. He continues this behavior as an adult.

After their father’s death, Mavin threatens his father’s lawyer, who is then forced to alter Roongroj’s will. As a result, Mavin inherits everything, while Phupat gets nothing.

Once Mavin becomes the president of Theva Gems, he removes Phupat from the company board, as Phupat had tried to do to him earlier.

Phupat then becomes convinced that Mavin killed their father for the inheritance and involves the police, but Mavin uses his power and influence to get the case closed.

Mavin, believing that Phupat tried to frame him for murder, fires him and asks him to leave their house. As Mavin always gets the better of Phupat, Phupat resorts to planning Mavin’s murder.

The price of cruelty

Phupat is not the only person Mavin has wronged. The house staff often endures Mavin’s cruelty, and he further instills fear by making them watch each other suffer to keep them in line.

When Bee exposes Mavin’s son Shutter’s affair with his cousin, Mavin punishes her by locking her in a cage with animals and torturing her.

Mavin, known for his debauched lifestyle, has also been taking advantage of a housemaid, Kaew. He has been cheating on his wife with Kaew.

As Kaew has nowhere to go and Mavin is her employer, she has no choice but to consent to his demands. Later, Kaew becomes pregnant.

She wants to keep the baby, but Mavin forces her to get an abortion, even though it is not confirmed whether the child is his or her boyfriend Tian’s.

Seeking revenge against Mavin, Tian attacks Shutter, who ends up hospitalized. When Mavin finds out that Tian was the attacker, he forces Tian’s brother, Joke, at gunpoint to kill him.

To protect his brother, Tian takes his own life. Tian’s death is the final straw, and every member of the house staff turns against Mavin.

They join forces with Phupat to plan his murder. They drug Mavin during a party before he goes to set off fireworks on a boat with Joke.

Phupat accompanies Mavin on the boat and pushes him into the ocean when he is unable to swim. Phupat and Joke then cause an explosion to make Mavin’s death look like an accident.

Surprisingly, Mavin is still alive when he is pulled out of the water, but he dies on the way to the hospital because Phupat bribes the ambulance driver to take them to a far-off hospital.

After his death, Mavin’s lies and crimes are exposed. His family gets nothing, his son dies, and his wife, Araya, suffers alone.
