In Absolute Beginners, Malwina is a friend of Niko and Lena who dates Igor briefly. Paulina Krzyżańska plays Malwina.
Malwina works at her father’s restaurant. She shares a difficult relationship with her father and even wonders if she should leave this town like her mother.
Unlike Lena and Niko, she is not sure if she is ever going to find her passion. Even Malwina’s father doubts that Malwina will ever find her calling.
She dates Igor briefly, and just for him, she sneaks out of her house once, against her father’s wishes. Malwina’s father kicks her out, and she is forced to find a place to stay.
For the rest of the series, Malwina lives in a trailer and pays the owner of that trailer rent while keeping her job at her father’s restaurant. She won’t take her father’s help, no matter what.
The fate of Malwina at the end
People say Malwina has a mouth like her mother. Malwina has never met her mother, and she doesn’t want to impose either. She likes to think her mother knows her address; she should be the one coming to visit her.
At the restaurant, Malwina once gets harassed by a customer. Malwina retaliates and even quits her job right away. Lena’s mother comforts her, and Malwina agrees with Lena’s mother that this town is too small for her.
Malwina spent the show calling out the people of the town. Even the likes of Lena and Niko, who only call her when they need her.
Malwina had grudges with Lena, but they resolved them on their own. At the end of the series, she decides to leave for Berlin. Whether she will look for her mother or not remains a mystery.
