Plot summary
The second season picks up the story 6 months after the events of the first season. As Tara and Adil are getting a divorce and Adil is dating Faiza, Tara’s old friends abandon her; she is no longer a part of Adil’s world of the rich and lives with Karan now.
While homosexuality is no longer illegal in India, Karan’s mother has still not accepted him. She has stage 4 cancer, and she refuses to get treated. Furthermore, she tells Karan that he is killing her, not the cancer. A dejected Karan then starts using drugs.
Made In Heaven is not doing so well either. The company is not making any profits, and Karan and Tara are using Mr. Jauhari’s old house as their office. Mr. Jauhari decides to bring in an auditor, who is none other than his wife, Bulbul Jauhari.
While Jazz decides to find a man and get married, Kabir is going to NYU for his master’s degree. Kabir changes his mind about leaving when Amazon commissions a documentary series on Indian weddings and wants to use the weddings shot by Kabir.
Made In Heaven hires a production head, Meher Chaudhary, who is a transwoman. The team plans an Indo-British wedding for a couple, Sarina and Aman. The families of the couple make Sarina feel like she needs to have fair skin to be beautiful.
Sarina takes treatments to lighten her skin color, and they harm her skin, which upsets Aman. He assures her that he loves her the way she is. They have a happy wedding, but Sarina still finds it hard to love her own skin.
Meanwhile, Tara meets a chef named Raghav and starts dating him. Adil’s father passes away, and Adil finds out that his father cheated on his mother for years and had a daughter named Gauri. Adil was never told about her, but his mother knew all along.
Adil wants his half-sister to give up her shares in their father’s company, which Adil has inherited. He also wishes to divorce Tara, as he has to marry Faiza, who is now pregnant and living in a hotel because her parents do not want her to be with Adil.
Karan’s mother refuses to speak to him unless he gets married to a girl. Karan then starts sleeping with Akshay Jaiswal, a designer, but often makes bad decisions because of his relationship with his mother.
Made In Heaven organizes the wedding of Anik Jain, a life coach, and Adhira, a successful model. It does not take Bulbul long to figure out that Adhira is being abused. However, no one listens to her, as she is not liked at the office because she is cutting costs and trying to make changes to the way things are done there.
It turns out that Bulbul was right. Anik abuses Adhira a day before the wedding. Adhira’s parents call off the wedding, but Adhira decides to go ahead with it when Anik cries and apologizes, much to everyone’s dismay.
Kabir and Jazz start sleeping together, and Kabir’s girlfriend, who was going to the US with him, breaks up with him. Kabir goes against his rich parents’ wishes and decides to stay in India to work on the Amazon series.
The next wedding that Made In Heaven organizes introduces complicated relationships. Kriti and Gulshan have been in love since they were in college, but they never got to marry because Gulshan was not that rich back then. They rekindle their relationship years later and decide to divorce their partners to be together.
Before they could do that, Gulshan’s daughter, Gargi, and Kriti’s son, Raj, announce that they are getting married to each other. Kriti realizes that Raj is marrying Gargi for her father’s money, so Kriti and Gulshan decide to leave their partners and elope. It is Kriti and Gulshan who tie the knot, not their children.
Tara, who was not demanding alimony earlier, finds out about Faiza’s pregnancy. She decides to follow her mother’s advice and ask Adil for what she deserves. She now wants half the company shares that Adil has inherited.
When Karan’s dying mother asks him not to meet her again, he gets high and gambles. He ends up losing 23 lakhs. He borrows some money from Akshay, but he still needs 18 lakhs more to pay off his debt.
Made in Heaven gets their big break when they get to organize the wedding of Bollywood stars Sarfaraz and Leila in France. The actors plan to do their first film together after getting married, but Leila soon finds out that Sarfaraz asked the director to replace her with another rising star.
The betrayal hurts Leila, but she takes Tara’s advice and tries to get some money out of the marriage. She agrees to marry Sarfaraz only when she gets to co-produce the film and have Sarfaraz work in the film for free.
In France, Karan gets high and fails to do his part of the work responsibly. On top of that, he takes money from the company’s account to pay off his debt, leaving Tara no choice but to borrow money from Adil’s mother to be able to organize the wedding.
There, Karan also gets to meet Nawab, his first love. Nawab makes Karan talk to him about his problems. He comforts him and asks him to clean up his mess. Karan also gets into a fight with Tara, and the two stop talking to each other. Karan then moves in with Akshay and stops using drugs.
Kabir tells Jazz that he does not want a committed relationship and that his relationship with her is an open one. Additionally, Bulbul finds out that her older son, Dhruv, who does not respect her and Mr. Jauhari, has been suspended from school for molesting a girl.
After his fight with Tara, Karan and Tara decide to work on separate weddings from now on. Tara organizes the wedding of Pallavi Menke and Vikram. Pallavi is a well-known Dalit Ivy League professor who has also written books and won awards.
Vikram’s parents insist on having a Hindu wedding, so Pallavi decides to have a Buddhist wedding as well. However, no one wants the Buddhist wedding, as it will highlight Pallavi’s Dalit identity. When Vikram realizes this, he goes against his parents’ wishes and supports Pallavi.
On the other hand, Karan organizes the wedding of Vidya and Rohit. Vidya has a son, who is not happy to be separated from his father. Vidya and Rohit are able to make him happy by taking Karan’s advice and reuniting him with his father.
One of Dhruv’s friends made a video of himself and his girlfriend, Shruti, together and then used it to force Shruti to sleep with his friends. Shruti’s parents report Dhruv and his friends’ crime, but all the boys lie about what happened and slut-shame Shruti.
However, Bulbul is skeptical and refuses to blame Shruti like the other parents. Her fears come true when her younger son, Gaurav, tells her the truth and shows her the video that Dhruv’s friends used to blackmail Shruti.
The next wedding that Karan organizes is that of Elmira and Wasim, who already has a wife, Shehnaz, and two children. Shehnaz cannot divorce her husband because she knows she will not get custody of her children.
Seeing her husband get married to another woman is too painful for her, and she tries to kill herself. Despite knowing about Shehnaz’s condition, Wasim gets married to Elmira. Karan convinces Shehnaz to live, and she decides to go to court to get polygamy banned in India.
At the same time, Tara organizes Radhika and Aditi’s commitment ceremony. Radhika’s parents refused to accept her when she came out, so she does not bother inviting them to the ceremony.
However, Aditi goes to invite Radhika’s parents with Tara, who succeeds in convincing Radhika’s mother to come to the ceremony, making Radhika happy on her special day.
Adil finds out that Tara has been dating Raghav. This weakens Tara’s case, and she will no longer be able to get the company shares. Tara then books a hotel room in Adil’s name and sleeps with him, leaving Adil no choice but to give her what she wants, and Tara now wants the Khanna house.
Bulbul never told her sons about their father. She regrets it now, as Dhruv did not learn to respect women. She finally tells him that his father used to abuse her, and none of his family members ever came to her aid. One day, when he tried to hurt Dhruv, Bulbul stabbed him.
Jauhari was their neighbor, and he used to help Bulbul a lot. If it was not for his testimony, Bulbul would have been sent to prison, as her husband’s family blamed her for everything. Hearing what his mother had to go through makes Dhruv regret his actions and confess the truth to the police.
After dealing with several transphobic and disrespectful men, Meher starts dating Danish, a theater artist. Danish treats her well, but she realizes that their relationship might not last when she attends his birthday party and feels that his friends and family are not very accepting of her.
On the other hand, Karan and Akshay break up when Karan does not confide in him. He returns to live with Tara. Soon after, his mother, whom he has not spoken to for some time now, passes away.
Jazz and Kabir fight when Jazz accuses him of not wanting to be with her because he is a classist. Jazz goes to her friend Nadeem, only to realize that he is with someone else now. Later, Kabir tries to resolve their differences, but she refuses to talk to him.

Karan does not tell Akshay about his mother’s death, but he does tell Nawab, who comes to India to see him for a few hours. Nawab tells Karan that his mother was not good to him. Although his mother is dead and he loves her, Karan does not need to like her or feel guilty about anything.
With Nawab by his side, Karan cries his heart out. The next morning, Nawab and Karan say goodbye to each other, and Nawab leaves. Karan then stops being self-destructive.
Do Julie and Roman get married?
The last wedding of this season is that of Roman and Julie. Roman is ten years younger than Julie and was going to Berkeley to study music. However, when Julie got pregnant, he decided to stay with her and get married to her.
On the day of the wedding, Roman has a panic attack. When Julie finds out about it, she convinces him to go to Berkeley instead of marrying her. He can be a father to their child, but he does not need to be a husband just yet.
Julie does not cancel the ceremony and takes the vow to love and cherish herself. Julie celebrates herself, and her friends and family join her.
How do the lives of the characters change?
Jazz comes to know that her parents received several marriage proposals for her and that they rejected all of them without discussing them with her.
She realizes that her parents are worried about their own future, as her brother is in rehab. She assures them that even if she gets married, she will not forget her duties as a daughter and will continue taking care of them.
At Julie’s celebration, Kabir approaches Jazz to talk to her, but she is too happy to discuss anything serious with him, so she asks him to dance with her instead.
Bulbul’s family life improves, as her son becomes a better person. Adhira, who had earlier married her abusive boyfriend, Anik, files charges against him.
Lastly, Meher mentally prepares herself for her breakup with Danish. Introducing Meher to his family and friends was a new experience for everyone, so Danish took his time to evaluate his feelings. He realized that he wants to be with Meher, and the couple does not break up.
Does Tara end up with Raghav?
Tara gets the Khanna house and finally divorces Adil. He marries Faiza, who helps him accept his half-sister. Adil, Faiza, and Adil’s mother move to a new house, and Gauri becomes a part of the family.
Tara is happy with Raghav but soon realizes that there is a huge difference between the life she has lived with Adil and the life that she is living with Raghav, and this one does not satisfy her.
Tara moves into the Khanna house with Karan. She even asks Raghav to live with them, but Raghav refuses, as he does not think that the house belongs to her just because she was married to Adil for four years.
Tara believes that she deserves this house. She makes it clear to Raghav that his opinions have no bearing on what she deserves; where she can or cannot live is a decision that he cannot make for her.
A disappointed Raghav leaves. Later, when Karan asks Tara about Raghav, she tells him that it is just the two of them, implying that her relationship with Raghav is over.
