Netflix’s acclaimed 2018 film’s sequel, Lust Stories 2 showcases four different filmmakers’ takes on the titular human emotion told through other stories and characters.

Lust Stories 2 is a compendium of four different short films all tacking the same thing — Lust. R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh, and Amit Ravindernath Sharma are the directors helming their respective stories with lust at their center or prominent periphery.
R. Balki
The first story comes from R. Balki’s mindscape and follows Veda and Arjun, two young people ready to take on the next chapter of their love life — marriage. It’s revealed that they met through their parents, who all pride themselves on being progressive.
However, when it comes to topics like sex, all their progressive ideas and notions are disrupted beyond recognition. That’s exactly what happens when Veda’s grandmother interrupts the giddy occasion with an absolute belter of a question — have the love birds tried sex yet?
The parents are enraged that the grandmother will keep talking about such obscenities but the old woman can’t care less. She goes on to guide Veda on the lessons of true compatibility between partners, the sex part of which she says is extremely crucial.
She also teaches her the importance of completion in sexual intercourse, i.e., orgasm. Veda is embarrassed and flustered at first but also heeds her grandmother’s words. At the end of the story, Veda and Arjun make for one happy and satisfied couple and finally tie the knot.
Konkona Sen Sharma
Konkana’s story follows a working woman who’s sexually repressed and suffers from frequent migraines, relieves herself and develops a kink for voyeurism. It starts when she comes home early one day and witnesses her housemaid Seema and her husband having sex in her bed.
Instead of firing her or talking about it, she begins a voyeuristic routine, as she sneaks into her house daily and pleasures herself watching the couple have sex. One day, Seema finds out that Isheeta knows about the daily sex and also that she watches them have sex.
Seema doesn’t say anything either because she enjoys the voyeuristic flair of this daily ritual as well. And so continues this charade, with both women not mentioning the truth to each other since both derive pleasure from it. That’s until Isheeta ends up dropping a cutlery and the noise alerts Seema and her husband.
Embarrassed and at a loss of defense, Isheeta goes on the offense, pretending that she’s just stumbled upon the couple having sex.
Seema gets upset and mentions how she’s lying and in fact, has been pleasuring herself by watching the two have sex every day. Isheeta fires Seema and soon the whole building starts buzzing with the rumors regarding the voyeurism spiel.
Several maids later, Isheeta meets Seema again and the two reconnect rather amicably. The second short of Lust Stories 2 ends with Isheeta hiring Seema as her maid again, and there’s also a hint at the old voyeuristic routine resuming once again.
Sujoy Ghosh
The third story of Lust Stories 2 follows Vijay who’s on his way to meet his flame, and it’s soon revealed that it’s an extramarital affair. However, when his father-in-law calls him for an important meeting that determines the helm of the company, he has to reroute.
That’s when he meets an accident and his car breaks down as a result. He has to take a gander around the village while his car is being repaired. He is shocked when he stumbles upon Shanti, his former wife who he thought had died after she disappeared one day almost a decade ago.
His lust for her reawakens and while she repeatedly insists that he leaves, he doesn’t and has sex with her. He also talks to her about how she came to live there and what happened all those years ago. She says it was his current wife Anu who hired people to kidnap her, but she later escaped.
However, after they’ve had sex Vijay slips up and inadvertently reveals that he was the one who had tried to get her killed. As soon as his jig is up, he takes a pillow and suffocates Shanti to death, killing her. He then heads out to his car and is terrorized by at looking the dead himself being carried out of the car.
He realizes that he’s been dead all along, right as Shanti arrives and sits beside him, revealing that she’s also been dead this whole time. This is the reason why the look of the village is so surreally weird.
As for the reason why Vijay had Shanti killed, it’s most likely because he developed a lust for Anu and probably even the company/business empire that she comes with.
Amit Ravindernath Sharma
The last story in Lust Stories 2 follows Chandra, a former prostitute and current wife of a corrupt, sleazy, and extremely lustful man belonging to an upper caste. He’s rapidly washing his money away spending on tenders that he can never secure.
Meanwhile, he treats his wife like an animal and sexually assaults his housemaid. All the wife needs now is to secure a bright future for her son, which she aims to do by sending him to England. However, Suraj won’t ever allow that. Meanwhile, he also starts lusting after the new maid.
Chandra, for the first time in a long time, smiles at the new maid Rekha having sex with Suraj because it’s revealed that Rekha was also a prostitute at the same house where Chandra hails from.
When she learned that Rekha had contracted an STD from someone, she decided to have her replace the former maid, in the process also giving Suraj the same disease, in hopes of one day leaving his shadow and building a great future for herself and her son.
However, she’s unable to claim victory over fate when she finds out Rekha having sex with her son.
