Lucía or Lu is Cindy’s best friend. Their friendship turns sour when Lu falls in love with Cindy’s boyfriend. In Cindy la Regia: The High School Years, Anxel García plays Lucía.
Even when Cindy gets involved in a scandal, Lu, her best friend, stays by her side and helps with damage control.
However, Lu is not perfect. Like the other girls on the soccer team, she is also homophobic, and that disappoints Angie.
Later, Lu realizes that she played a part in hurting Angie and regrets her actions. She then goes after Angie with Cindy and stops her from leaving the town.
Meeting the one
Unlike Cindy, Lu does not dream of meeting “the one”. Out of the two friends, Cindy is the romantic one, but Cindy keeps reminding Lu that she matters to her more than any boyfriend.
When Max tries to earn Cindy’s forgiveness, he goes to Lu for help. Lu agrees to give him a chance and helps him fix things with Cindy.
With Lu’s help, Max wins Cindy back. Even when Max and Cindy start dating, Lu keeps helping him impress Cindy.
Eventually, Max and Lu develop feelings for each other but never act on their feelings. Cindy then confides in Lu about her relationship problems.
While Cindy realizes that Max is not the one for her, Lu realizes that she likes Max a lot. Lu hates herself for having feelings for her best friend’s boyfriend.
When Lu and Max finally kiss, Cindy sees them together and feels betrayed. This drives a wedge between the two friends.
Lu apologizes to Cindy, but Cindy cannot bring herself to forgive Lu, as she considered Lu her true soulmate and Lu broke her heart.
Lu and Cindy reconcile
Soon after Lu starts dating Max, she finds out that she is pregnant. She is scared to tell her mother, who is always busy at work, about it.
At a time like this, she seeks help and support from Cindy, and Cindy does not think twice before helping Lu.
Cindy and Angie take Lu to Mexico City to get an abortion. Cindy comforts Lu throughout the process.
The two girls let go of their differences and go back to being friends. Cindy then tells Lu about what Esteban did to her.
Initially, Cindy decides not to take action against him, but she changes her mind when Lu tells Cindy’s other friends about the incident and convinces Cindy to report him.
When their principal fails to take action against Esteban and Cindy resorts to wrecking Esteban’s car, Lu and her other friends join her to show their support.
Cindy even accepts Lu and Max’s relationship. Despite everything that happened, the two friends continue having each other’s backs.
