Lim Sun: Miss Night and Day character explained

Mi-jin assumes the identity of her missing aunt, Lim Sun, when she transforms into a fifty-year-old woman. In Miss Night and Day, Baek So-mi plays Mi-jin’s aunt.

Lim Sun was Mi-jin’s maternal aunt who went missing around twenty years ago. However, no one realized that something had happened to her.

Since she quit her job and her family received a message from her saying she was leaving, everyone assumed that she had willingly left home.

Mi-jin only realizes that her aunt might have died back then when she assumes her identity twenty years later and meets Director Baek.

Lim Sun’s sudden disappearance

Lim Sun was a bank employee. When Director Baek’s wife went missing, he approached Lim Sun for help.

He trusted her with details of his wife’s old account and asked her to contact him if money was withdrawn from it.

Lim Sun, an honest and kind woman, agreed to help. Soon after, Gong Eun-sim tried to withdraw money from the account after murdering Director Baek’s wife.

Lim Sun immediately grew suspicious, knowing that the woman in front of her was not Director Baek’s wife. She attempted to contact Baek but was unsuccessful.

A suspicious Lim Sun contacts Director Baek

Before Lim Sun could do anything else, Gong Eun-sim, realizing that Lim Sun was suspicious, fled. That same night, Gong Eun-sim killed Lim Sun.

She also sent a message to Lim Sun’s family and workplace, making it seem like she had willingly left home to prevent any investigation into her disappearance.

Director Baek then started believing that Lim Sun’s sudden vanishing after he approached her for help implicated her in his wife’s murder.

He continued searching for her for the next twenty years, hoping to get answers from her. However, there was no trace of Lim Sun whatsoever.

The curse that revealed the truth

Mi-jin has always borne a resemblance to her aunt. When she starts transforming into a fifty-year-old woman during the day, she assumes Lim Sun’s identity and gets a job at the District Prosecutors’ Office.

Lim Sun’s sudden appearance after twenty years catches Director Baek’s attention. He kidnaps her and questions her about his wife’s murder.

Hearing Director Baek’s story confirms Mi-jin’s suspicions that something happened to her aunt and that she never left home.

Mi-jin now believes that her curse of transforming into an older woman was to help her find the truth about what happened to her aunt.

She hopes to lift the curse by bringing Gong Eun-sim to justice for the murder of her aunt and several other innocent women.
