Lilith: Shahmaran season 2 character explained

Lilith, Shahmaran’s sister, returns to exact revenge on mankind in the second season of Shahmaran. Saadet Işıl Aksoy plays Lilith.

Lilith is considered Shahmaran’s powerful counterpart, capable of wielding all of her sister’s powers and even the darkest versions of them.

Lilith views her sister as a traitor to their kind and is determined to destroy Shahmaran as well as everything Shahmaran stands for.

After what humans did to her and her sister, Lilith plans to exact revenge on them, rally all basilisks to her side, and create an empire of serpents.

Lilith’s imprisonment

Shahmaran fell in love with Camsap, a human. When Camsap wished to return to the surface, Shahmaran allowed him to leave, despite Lilith’s disapproval.

While Shahmaran trusted him to keep his promise not to reveal her location, Lilith did not, believing that men always bring danger.

Lilith warned Shahmaran that Camsap would betray her, and she was proven right. Camsap broke his promise and led the Sultan’s men to Shahmaran’s garden, resulting in her murder.

Enraged, Lilith wanted to kill Camsap for betraying her sister, but Shahmaran stopped her. To protect Camsap and mankind from Lilith’s anger, Shahmaran imprisoned her in a castle deep within a well.

Lilith was hurt and furious that her sister chose Camsap and humanity over her. She vowed to take revenge on mankind.

She never forgot humanity’s betrayal, and as time passed, her hatred and rage only grew. She patiently waited in the castle within the well for the day she would rise again.

Lilith’s vengeance

Lilith escapes her prison in the second season. Like Shahmaran, she has devoted followers who are willing to kill for her.

Lilith is extremely powerful and feared by all. Her venom, unlike that of other basilisks, does not kill but paralyzes.

What makes Lilith especially dangerous is her ability to heal herself, making it impossible to kill her. The only one capable of defeating her is Shahmaran.

As soon as Lilith returns, her followers begin killing those loyal to Shahmaran. While Shahmaran still wishes to protect mankind, Lilith turns basilisks against humans.

To gain more support, she brings Mesut Gürmak, a wealthy man known for exploiting and killing basilisks, to her community and allows them to decide his fate.

Besides encouraging her followers to terrorize humans, she orders them to kill basilisks who support her sister, including Maran.

Lilith also breaks the cycle set in motion by Shahmaran, a cycle designed to give humanity chances to improve and avoid repeating their mistakes, by killing Camsap.

Despite this, when Shahmaran returns and the two sisters face each other, Shahmaran expresses her love for Lilith, which soothes Lilith’s fury.

Shahmaran pacifies Lilith

Shahmaran believes that the world needs Lilith just as much as it needs her because Lilith’s destruction balances Shahmaran’s creations.

However, to start a new cycle and prevent Lilith from harming humans, Shahmaran has to imprison Lilith in the well once again.

Lilith, haunted by the memory of her sister’s death, pleads with Shahmaran not to let humans kill her again, but her pleas go unanswered. Once again, Shahmaran chooses humanity over Lilith and seals her away.
