Despite her efforts, the channel has not gained popularity yet, so Ai also works at a waxing salon. Ai and her college friend, Chou Ping-ke, share a friends-with-benefits relationship.

Ai establishes some rules for their arrangement, as she wants to avoid any expectations that could complicate their relationship.

Ping-ke comes from a rich family, but he does not have a good relationship with his father, who is married to someone else. Ping-ke keeps avoiding him.

As Ai’s mother, Mei-chih, catches her father, Cheng-nan, masturbating and gets angry with him on Lunar New Year, Ai brings Ping-ke home as her boyfriend to diffuse tension during dinner.

Ai’s siblings, Wei and Yu-sen, also join them. Ai lives with Yu-sen, her brother, who makes money from underground poker and lies to his parents about having a job.

Wei, Ai’s sister, is married to a professor named Shih-chieh. Due to Shih-chieh’s busy schedule, Wei does not get any time with him and feels sexually dissatisfied.

Ai’s parents get into a fight, which leads to Cheng-nan leaving for Indonesia, where he owns a factory, and ignoring his wife’s calls when she tries contacting him.

Ping-ke, believing that his father hurt his mother, keys his father’s car. As a result, his father blocks his credit cards.

When Ai comments about Ping-ke living off his black card without working, he decides to get a job at a convenience store to earn his own money.

Ai and Ping-ke start developing feelings for each other, but Ai continues to sleep with other people because she witnessed a girl kissing Ping-ke, unaware that he pushed her away.

Soon after, Ai finds out that Bonner, her first love, is moving back to Taiwan. Ai and Bonner were deeply in love, but they broke up when he moved away following his parents’ divorce.

While Ai initially believes they can pick up where they left off, she soon realizes it is not possible because she has developed feelings for Ping-ke.

Meanwhile, Yu-sen’s boyfriend, Henry, keeps disappointing Yu-sen. One night, a hurt Yu-sen gets drunk and goes to play poker at his usual place, resulting in him losing a lot of money.

The club’s owner is a gangster named Li Yueh, and Yu-sen now owes him NT$ 900,000. To pay him back, Yu-sen accompanies him to play high-stakes underground poker.

Yu-sen is a skilled player and wins a lot. Over time, as they share victories and face danger together, Yueh and Yu-sen grow close and end up getting involved romantically.

Then, there is Wei, who avoids communicating with her husband about her problems and becomes insecure about their relationship.

As a result, she fails to finish the book she has been working on for quite some time. She decides to follow her friend Lisa’s advice and attends a tantra class.

That night, while getting drunk with Lisa and her partner, she almost ends up cheating on Shih-chieh. Overwhelmed by guilt, Wei decides to confess everything to Shih-chieh.

The confession hurts and infuriates Shih-chieh, driving a wedge between them. Shih-chieh keeps avoiding Wei’s attempts to speak with him, worsening the situation.

Mei-chih discovers that she has an STD. Assuming her husband cheated on her and gave her the infection, she decides to divorce him.

When she informs her children of her decision, they track down their father and discover he is in Taiwan, not Indonesia. Ai is given the responsibility to talk to him.

Ai sees him outside a shady apartment building with another woman and thinks that he is cheating on her mother, so she does not approach him.

Ping-ke, who accompanied her, realizes that her father’s affair is hurting her, so he distracts her and makes her feel better. Ai then tells him that she is not with Bonner, and they sleep together.

However, Ai makes a comment about how all men cheat. She not only compares Ping-ke to unfaithful men but also mentions his father’s adultery.

Ai’s comparison hurts Ping-ke, leading him to end their friendship. He asks Ai not to meet him again and cuts all ties with her.

On the other hand, Yu-sen, who has feelings for Yueh, breaks up with his boyfriend and follows Yueh to Miaoli, where Yueh’s grandmother lives.

Yueh introduces Yu-sen to his sick grandmother, and when she passes away, Yu-sen helps Yueh deal with his grief. It takes Yueh time, but he eventually accepts his support.

Wei tells Shih-chieh that she only attended the tantra class because she was jealous of his closeness to one of his students, Anne.

Wei’s strained relationship with her mother, who pressures her to have children, played a role in her fear of Shih-chieh leaving her.

Wei and her mother reconcile when her mother reveals her own struggles, explaining that her father has not been intimate with her for a long time.

Mei-chih felt embarrassed to discuss the issue with her husband, a situation that is not very different from Wei’s experience.

Shortly after, Anne makes a move on Shih-chieh, who, despite being attracted to her, rejects her advances. The incident helps him understand Wei a little better, and he finally talks to her.

Ping-ke had earlier attacked a drunk customer who threatened Ai. Due to this, Ping-ke gets fired. He then tries to get a job at a bike repair shop he frequents.

The shop barely gets any customers, so the owner is reluctant to hire help. In an effort to boost business, Ping-ke decides to renovate the shop.

Meanwhile, Ai’s social media account finally gets the exposure she always wanted when she is invited to a talk show, but it comes at a cost.

The hosts question Ai’s opinions on love and sex, touching on her commitment issues and her choice to avoid falling in love, leading to Ai reflecting on her fear of falling in love.

It is revealed that when Ai was young, her father left her sleeping in the car and visited a hostess club. Upon waking up, Ai followed him inside and saw him with other women.

Now, Ai goes to confront her father. She tells him that her aversion to the idea of falling in love stems from the fear of being abandoned, a fear that he instilled in her.

Meih-chih finds out that Cheng-nan asked to borrow ten million dollars from an acquaintance. As Cheng-nan continues to ignore her, she decides to go to Indonesia.

Wei is then forced to tell her that Cheng-nan is in Taiwan. At the same time, Shih-chieh realizes that all Wei needed was for him to be with her.

Shih-chieh then tells Wei that he is open to couples counseling, as he hopes for an improvement in their relationship

Strife and bonding

Cheng-nan still refuses to return home. An angry Ai then talks to her mother about her father’s infidelity, but Meih-chih defends him despite everything.

Ai decides to take a break from making videos for her channel. It is then that her friend informs her that Ping-ke lost his job at the convenience store.

One day, Ping-ke returns home to find his mother passed out with the gas still on. The next day, she promises to give up drinking if he agrees to have one meal with his father.

For his mother’s sake, Ping-ke agrees. He even apologizes to his father and realizes that, contrary to his belief, his father truly cares about his mother.

Yueh and Yu-sen, now a couple, return home. Ai informs Yu-sen about everything that happened in his absence, and he speaks to his father’s factory manager in Indonesia.

When he discovers that their father lost ten million dollars at the end of last year, he decides to speak to his father about the problem. Ai and Yueh accompany them.

A step in the right direction

When Yu-sen and Ai locate their father’s apartment, they discover that he has not been having an affair. Instead, he has been selling fake medicine to people to make money.

Yu-sen convinces Cheng-nan to close his factory and assures him that he will take care of his financial problems.

Yueh even gives Yu-sen two million to give to Cheng-nan. Finally, Yu-sen and Ai manage to bring their father home.

Cheng-nan and Meih-chih resolve their issues, prompting Ai to do the same with Ping-ke. She apologizes to him for not taking into consideration his feelings.

She regrets pushing him away when all he has done is be nice to her. Ping-ke forgives her, and they start dating.

Now that Yueh does not need money for his grandmother’s treatment, he no longer wants to be a gangster.

He aspires to live a decent life and decides to turn himself in to start anew. He asks Yu-sen to wait for him to come out of prison, if he is willing to do so.

A happy ending for everyone

Six months after Cheng-nan returns home, he is seen living a happy and carefree life with Meih-chih. He now wishes to take her to Indonesia for vacation.

Despite Yueh being in prison, his relationship with Yu-sen is still going strong. Yu-sen visits him, and Yueh has plans to change his career once he gets out.

Wei not only finished the book she couldn’t complete before but also got it published. She and Shih-chieh are as in love as they were when they first met.

Thanks to Ping-ke’s efforts, the bike repair shop where he now works is thriving. Additionally, he no longer avoids his father.

Ping-ke and Ai also get their happy ending. Ping-ke wishes to move in with Ai, and she readily agrees.
