In Who is Erin Carter?, Lena Campbell is Harper’s real mother. Erin raises Harper, believing that Lena died in a shootout five years ago. Denise Gough plays Lena.
Lena Campbell worked for Thomas Ramsey five years ago. She used to bring her five-year-old daughter, Harper, along with her to Ramsey’s hideout.
Lena knows that she is a bad mother for bringing Harper to a place like this. However, everything she does is for Harper. While working for Ramsey, she took time out to carry out small heists in order to steal toys for her daughter to keep her happy.
Lena had plans to move away with Harper once Ramsey’s gang is done with the Harwich job. She dreamed of going to Spain and living in a villa with Harper. The Harwich job would have given her enough money to make this dream come true.
However, not everything went according to the plan. Using information supplied by Erin, the cops raided Ramsey’s hideout. While some died, some survived. Lena was shot too. Erin believed that Lena had died and took Harper with her to Barcelona, where they started afresh.
Lena’s return
Lena spends days in prison. A parole officer helps her get a work release. She starts working at the house. However, Lena messes up the job after learning that her friend, Margot, is dead. She hits the homeowner, who tries to take her laptop away from her.
Lena is encouraged to break out of prison after coming across the article about Erin stopping a robbery in which she killed Gasper, another friend of Lena and a former member of Ramsey’s gang.
Lena returns with the motive of taking revenge and reuniting with her daughter, Harper. Once Lena and Erin come face-to-face, Erin attempts to send Lena away by offering her the gold she retrieved from the Harwich job.
Lena takes the gold but shoots Erin down. She then leaves to go back to Erin’s house to wait for her daughter to come.
What happens between Lena and Harper?
Lena fails to muster up the courage to talk to her daughter when she first sees her after years. She is then kidnapped by Daniel Lang’s men. She offers Daniel his gold back if he doesn’t kill Harper as collateral while getting rid of Erin.
They come to a deal, and Lena is allowed to go and meet Harper, who is at Olivia’s house with Jordi. However, Harper now only cares about whether Lena is going to help Erin or not. She pushes Lena away when Lena hugs her.
At a time like this, Olivia, Erin’s best friend, reminds Lena that she should think about what’s best for Harper.
Lena’s death
Daniel’s men pick Jordi and Harper up when they struggle to catch Erin. Lena is tasked to find and bring Erin to Daniel if she wants Harper safe and sound. Lena instead talks things out with Erin. She understands why Erin took Harper away and admits that Erin gave Harper a life that she couldn’t have.
Lena and Erin team up to take Daniel’s gang out. There comes a time when one of them has to sacrifice to make way for the other to reach Harper and Jordi. Erin volunteers, but it’s Lena who makes the sacrifice. Before dying, she requests that Erin only tell Harper good things about her.
