Whether it is moonlighting as an almost spy for Han-Il, or being a strict and efficient leader in the workplace, Lee Seok-Jun plays his part of conviction and professionalism.
He also has more dimensions and sides to him than would appear at a cursory glance.
The right-hand man
Lee Seok-Jun is the right-hand man of Yu Han-Il, the grandfather of Yu Ji-Hyuk and the chairman of U&K.
He’s also the head of the strategic planning office. Several episodes unfold the reasons as to why he enjoys that position.
Seok-Jun is shown to work even more shady jobs for Han-Il, like tailing Yu Ji-Hyuk.
It involves recording all his movements and photographing many of his getaways with Kang Ji-Won.
He keeps an eye on Ji-Hyuk most of the time, even tracking his professional duties.
He shares a tense relationship with him; the two aren’t exactly warm to each other but there’s a mutual respect between them.
He is a calm, calculative person who values reason, and uses it as well. However, it doesn’t mean that he is a total robot.
Relationship with Yang Ju-Ran
In fact, he likes Yang Hu-Ran, much in the same way as Yu Ji-Hyuk used to like Ji-Won in their previous lives.
Like Ji-Hyuk never did in his previous life, Lee Seok-Jun also doesn’t confess his feelings to Yang Ju-Ran.
The two like each other but since she’s married, they have another obstacle to contend with before they can be open to each other.
However, he keeps making efforts or at least finding himself in situations where he can act and help her, as she is going through a tough time in her life.
She has cancer, but she also has a husband who’s good for nothing and a bad father, on top of cheating on her, something that Seok-Jun is now aware of.
How he uses this information and helps her is what stands to inform their relationship moving forward.
