Kang Ji-Won was murdered by Park Min-Hwan, her cheating husband before she got sent back in time. This second life sees her begin to do everything she can to defy her fate, which involves breaking up with him.
Marry My Husband follows Kang Ji-Won, a woman whose life was slowly and gradually made hollow by parasites in the form of her best friend and husband, the people whose true identities she remained oblivious to until the end.
She gets killed by Park Min-Hwan shortly after she catches him sleeping with Bang Su-Min.
The death magically sends her ten years back in time, and she realizes she has just received a second chance at life, a chance to do things right this time.
She eventually figures out a way to defy her fate and subject Bang Su-Min to the life and hurt she received. It is by getting her married to Park Min-Hwan.
To do that, she needs to facilitate their affair without them knowing.
It is followed by splitting up with Min-Hwan so she can drift away from him and save herself from the torment of a marriage with him.
Getting Su-Min to covet her trash
Park Min-Hwan always has had lecherous eyes for Bang Su-Min.
At the same time, the psychopathic woman saw Min-Hwan as yet another thing she wanted to snatch away from Ji-Won.
So after igniting a couple of romantic fires and setting them up by leaving them with each other, alone, Ji-Won ensures that they get time to get close to each other.
She wants Bang Su-Min to covet her trash this time around And that’s what happens. Min-Hwan can’t see anything else but Su-Min’s body.
Meanwhile, Su-Min tries her best to seduce him, as she is impressed by his chivalry and spending prowess, unaware that he’s actually a cheapster.
At the marketing workshop, the two get in on and continue to have sex later on, in the office and other places.
He tries to keep it limited to the sexual escapades but she can’t let him go.
Min-Hwan keeps getting pulled into her charms and the two continue their affair, even as he takes Ji-Won to meet his parents.
Kang Ji-Won succeeds in making her enemies fall for each other and with that, the first step of her plan is complete.
Meeting mother-in-law
Next up on the roster is to break up with Park Min-Hwan, which is harder than it might be with anyone else. He becomes a little unhinged when it comes to breakups.
He’s really aversed to the idea of a breakup, especially when he’s the one getting dumped. He can’t tolerate it to the point he becomes violent.
A great opportunity falls in her lap when she stumbles upon his mother before she gets introduced to her as his mother. Her confident self is prickly to Kim Ja-Ok.

She is extremely sexist and can’t tolerate Ji-Won cooking meals opposite her at the Yuhan Department Store Cultural Center cooking class.
Kang Ji-Won successfully one-ups the uptight woman and leaves a bitter taste in her mouth.
She revels in the fact that she has made the perfect first impression she wants on her mother-in-law from her past life.
Setting up the meeting
Kang Ji-Won then gets Min-Hwan to set up a meeting to introduce her to his parents.
He tries his best to embarrass her by acting cheaply and asking her school friend, Chef Baek Eun-Ho, to give some discounts for the engagement family dinner.
But Ji-Won gets the upper hand when she intentionally hypes up his mother and her standards that he talked about in the past.
She does this to get him to buy her expensive clothes and accessories, so she can “keep up with the standards.”
The explosive breakup
At the dinner, she shocks Kim Ja-Ok speechless, before agreeing to all her misogynist demands post-marriage.
She then turns it on by saying she would be quitting her job to do all the household work expected of her.
Ja-Ok fails to be decent for a second and starts bad-mouthing Ji-Won’s late father. That’s when she decides it’s enough and it’s time she used this chance to break up.
Ji-Won refers to Ja-Ok as “lady”, before speaking her heart out about her no-good son and announcing she’s calling off this marriage.
Min-Hwan tries to stop her and confront her as she walks away, leaving his family gasping for air. She breaks up with him and tells him she doesn’t want to see him anymore.
He tries to be physical but she deploys her martial arts move that she learned from Yu Ji-Hyuk, to throw Min-Hwan on the ground.
