In Death and Other Details, Jules Toussaint is the head of security for Varuna. Hugo Diego Garcia plays Jules.
As the head of security, Jules is responsible for the lives of everyone aboard Varuna, the cruise ship on which the Colliers and their guests are sailing.
Mr. Bhandari encountered Jules months ago in London, which is how he ended up joining Varuna. The staff of Varuna is loyal to Jules.
However, under his nose, Keith Trubitsky, who is later revealed to be Danny, Rufus’ assistant, is murdered, which puts him in a position to answer what he was doing the night Danny died.
Jules’ secret
The night Danny met his end, Jules was with Imogene, who hooked up with him and made sure to notice the code to the security room so that she could delete the footage of her entering Danny’s room.
Jules is disappointed when he figures out that Imogene used him, even though Imogene claims that what happened between them was real.
When Agent Hilde Eriksen from Interpol takes over the investigation and interrogates Jules, he lies to her about his whereabouts.
When Hilde and Rufus start searching everyone’s room, Jules goes missing. Hilde and Rufus find out that Jules and Simon, one of his colleagues, shared books.
Upon searching Simon’s collection, which is usually comprised of mystery books, they find a book that doesn’t seem to belong there. Simon claims that the book isn’t his.
Inside the book, they discover a passport, some cards, and some cash. Rufus reveals that Jules Toussaint is an alibi. Furthermore, Jules has quite a criminal record.
Jules navigated just like Danny. He made sure that others underestimated him.
Meanwhile, Imogene follows Leila into a secret passageway on the ship, where Jules finds her. He says that she shouldn’t have come here.
Jules’ mission and fate
The fourth episode reveals that Jules possibly staged a mug on Sunil in London. He saved Sunil, who ended up hiring Jules.
On the ship, Jules has stowaways hidden. It is a family from Ukraine. He promised them a safe passage.
Jules is allowed that safe passage when one of the stowaways assists Imogene and Rufus in the investigation.
Imogene convinces Sunil to help Jules. Jules ensures the family’s escape but by becoming a distraction and getting arrested by the Interpol.
