When Do-hee inherits the Mirae Group, Ju Seok-hoon is the only member of Madam Ju’s family who does not turn against her. Lee Sang-yi plays Ju Seok-hoon in My Demon.
Ju Seok-hoon is Madam Ju’s nephew. His father is Madam Ju’s younger brother, a hippie who travels the world with his wife.
Although Seok-hoon, who runs Mirae Investments, is Madam Ju’s family, she only considers him a business partner.
However, since he is not a bad person, she does not dislike him as much as she dislikes the rest of her family. She even thinks about getting him married to Do-hee.
Unrequited love
Seok-hoon and Do-hee have known each other since they were children. As they both went to study abroad, they became close friends.
While Madam Ju’s family sees Do-hee as an outsider and is hostile to her, Seok-hoon is always nice to her, as he has feelings for her.
After Madam Ju’s death, it is revealed that Madam Ju named Do-hee her successor. Due to this, everyone turns against Do-hee.
While the rest of the family is determined to bring Do-hee down, Seok-hoon is the only one who stands by her side.
Do-hee trusts Seok-hoon enough to tell him about the attempts on her life as well as about Cha Tae-jun contacting her, which led to Madam Ju forming an audit team.
When he fails to convince Do-hee to stay out of the matter, as he does not want her to put herself in danger, he joins hands with Do-hee to find out who killed Madam Ju.

The multiple attempts on Do-hee’s life lead to Seok-hoon proposing marriage to Do-hee. It is only then that he confesses his feelings to Do-hee.
Seok-hoon has been in love with Do-hee for a while now, but Do-hee only sees him as family, so she chooses to marry Gu-won. Despite that, Seok-hoon promises to keep supporting her.
Discovering secrets
Seok-hoon excels at digging for information and helps Do-hee by gathering details related to Madam Ju’s death
He is the one who finds out about the financial fraud that Madam Ju had discovered before her death. However, his skills turn out to be a problem when he grows suspicious of Gu-won.
He starts looking into Gu-won’s Sunwol Foundation after Do-hee marries Gu-won. He finds pictures of Gu-won from 1977, which makes him believe that Gu-won is not human.

Seok-hoon gets another reason to suspect Gu-won when he witnesses Gu-won miraculously recovering after touching the tattoo on Do-hee’s wrist.
Seok-hoon does not like Gu-won, as it becomes evident to him that Do-hee has feelings for him, to the extent that she even gives up the position of chairperson for him.
He does not press Do-hee to reveal Gu-won’s secret, but he plans to keep an eye on Gu-won. That becomes a problem for Gu-won, as Seok-hoon might discover the truth and reveal it to the world.
Eventually, Seok-hoon does discover that Gu-won is a demon. However, it becomes evident to him that Gu-won loves Do-hee and will do anything to keep her safe.
Seok-hoon not only comes to terms with Do-hee’s love for Gu-won but also develops a liking for Gu-won. The two men then go on to become friends.
