JP Yadav is a major supporting character in Netflix’s heist comedy series, Choona. The character is played by Vikram Kochhar.
Choona sees a ragtag team of misfits going up against a corrupt and tyrannical politician, Shukla. This team includes Ansari, Triloki, Baankey, Bela, Jhumpa, Pandit Ji, Bishnu, and Contractor JP.
The pre-Shukla success
JP was on a trajectory of success and his career was on an incline, thanks to his meticulous hard work. A great opportunity came knocking when he received a letter from the ministry.
It was a contract for the renovation of the Shyama Prasad Community Center. To get on working, Yadav took a massive loan which was ten times his capacity, and bought expensive construction equipment.
The bank approved the loan considering it was Shukla’s contract. The contractor got the work done and the day of the inauguration arrived.
Shukla’s ruinous arrival
Avinash Shukla came to cut the ribbon but never did when he glanced at the statue. Citing his immense knowledge of Vastu, horoscopes, and other architectural pseudo-sciences, he claimed that the alignment of the statue was off.
He then orders JP to rectify the mistake but the latter reminded how it would be rather unwise and very risky for the statue’s integrity. Shukla is enraged that his Vastu expertise has not been awarded the significance it deserves.

He storms off from the inauguration and JP is told by his superiors to halt the construction until they do something about Shukla’s mood. However, the politician is over it and ceases the funding, leading to a loan default.
JP’s company goes bankrupt, and he’s forced to the same old days of struggle as a small-time contractor that few see as reliable. He also becomes an addict and a cranky pessimist.
And so begins his quest for vengeance against Shukla, and he contributes to the plan with his knowledge and expertise.
In the end, he gets to gloat and boast about their successful revenge as Shukla can’t even remember when he ever met him, let alone did him wrong enough to warrant such revenge.
