In Jack Ryan season 4, Jack’s team finds themselves breaking into Josip Olafsky’s marketplace in order to get in touch with Chao Fah Sein. Visar Vishka plays Josip Olafsky.
Josip Olafsky is one of the dealers the Silver Lotus Triad is working with. To track Chao Fah down, Jack’s team starts looking at his operations, and with the help of Chavez’s cousin, Marin, they learn about a marketplace run by Josip Olafsky in Dubrovnik, Croatia, where Chao Fah might be coming.
Mike November knows Katarina, who runs a brothel, and she has met Olafsky. Katarina explains to them that Olafsky is not a drug dealer. He has nothing to lose, so he buys experiences.
On top of that, they can’t easily get into Olafsky’s marketplace. One needs an exclusive invitation from Olafsky himself. Katarina directs them to Zubkov, who has been working as a facilitator for Olafsky. He offers him various types of intimate experiences.
According to Jack, convergence between the Silver Lotus Triad and Marquez’s cartel is happening. The path leads to Mexico from Croatia, where Olafsky is at.
Why is Olafsky killed?
With the help of Katarina and Zubkov, Jack’s team breaks into Olafsky’s marketplace. The marketplace is a dark fortress where everything illegal is sold, from women to weaponry.
In a more private room, Olafsky talks to his high-end clients, which include the Silver Lotus Triad. Unbeknownst to Zubkov, he has access to this room and uses it to get himself and Mike in.
Silver Lotus Triad offers Olafsky five triggers, and these triggers have their own respective locations assigned. The triggers can only be activated by a user’s thumbprint.
Jack’s team ruins their meeting as chaos erupts once shooting starts taking place. Olafsky corners Mike and Zubkov, but Mike is able to take Olafsky down.
Olafsky claims that these triggers are a way to change the world. He also promises to kill Zubkov and his family. To prevent that from happening, Mike November gets rid of Olafsky by killing him.
Before leaving, Chavez takes a picture with Olafsky’s body and sends it to Chao Fah. The triad planned to execute their goals with Olafsky, but now he is dead, which means Jack’s team is closing in on them now.
