Jeronimo Soares: Good Morning, Veronica character explained

Jeronimo Soares is the mysterious Duom, the third figure in the trafficking mafia behind the Order of Faith. Rodrigo Santoro plays the character.

The initial encounter between Veronica and Jeronimo occurs during her investigation of the orphanage where Brandao and Matias were raised.

Jeronimo seems well-informed about the institution, a knowledge he ascribes to his mother’s upbringing there.

On the night of their meeting, he quickly establishes a rapport with her and they become intimate. However, his intentions are duplicitous; he seeks to acquire her DNA for research purposes.

Gloria conducts a thorough investigation into Jeronimo Soares and discovers his tendency to shun the public eye.

While Jeronimo feigns assistance to Veronica, his underlying motives are far more ominous, as he harbors a hidden agenda in maintaining his proximity to her.

Carrying on the bloodline

After reaching out to one of the Monsignor’s trafficked children, Veronica gets a copy of the original picture of Matias and Brandao which reveals that Jeronimo is Duom.

His mother, Diana, was raped by the Monsignor and her babies were then sold off. She asked him if she could keep one and named him Jeronimo.

While Jeronimo didn’t have the same kind of proclivities as his “brothers”, he still treated women as a vessel for his plans.

He had an unhealthy attachment to his mother and they would fertilize Diana’s eggs with his sperm and then use the women they kidnapped as surrogates.

Jeronimo Soares and his mother had an incestuous relationship

He would subject the women to emotional abuse and instill fear and discipline into them so that he wouldn’t have to worry about retaliation.

When Jeronimo finds out that Veronica is one of the Monsignor and Diana’s children, he considers her the best candidate to carry on the project since his mother is past her peak.

When Matias returns, he isn’t too pleased and eventually kills him. He attempts to convince Veronica to join his side but she pushes back.

When Veronica and the other women rain down on the auction, Jeronimo attempts to escape but finds Diana bleeding out in the stables.

He tries to kill Veronica but is not quick enough as she shoots first and kills him.
