Doctor Cha revolves around a lot of characters who prefer to keep their relationships a secret from others. Jeon So-Ra and Jung-Min’s relationship is one of them, and like others, faces a crisis that comes from both parties struggling to inspire solid mutual trust.
Jeon So-Ra and Seo Jung-Min share one interesting dynamic while going about their relationship in shadows and silent, secret retreats at work. They don’t go public with their relationship and it’s very hard for others at work to even guess they might be together until later episodes of Doctor Cha.
This is because Jeon So-Ra is fiercely competent, while Jung-Min is not as competent, on top of which he’s a bit of a clumsy guy who’s also constantly working under his strict father’s shadow.
A secret affair
Jeon So-Ra is a third-year resident at Gusan University Hospital and Seo Jung-Min is a first-year resident at the same hospital.
They are in a relationship that they keep hidden from others. There are times when they meet and without arousing suspicions, they talk, flirt, and fight at work.
On the surface, all everyone else sees is a competent and hot-blooded Jeon So-Ra scolding and badly treating Jung-Min, along with anyone who struggles to keep up with her level of competence.
Issues rarely confronted
There is a range of issues in Jung-Min and So-Ra’s relationship. The secrecy of their affair is already an issue that might go under most people’s radar, but an incapability to keep your relationship at least publically known is already a reflection of the relationship’s weakness.

So-Ra also remains a bit dominant in this relationship rife with a plethora of minor issues, and it can come across as a bit problematic and restricting for Jung-Min, who’s shown to be protesting this distant and bit colder approach of So-Ra multiple times thus far in Doctor Cha.
Meanwhile, another big issue in their relationship is Jeong-Suk and how her relationship with Jung-Min is kept secret until So-Ra learns about it on her own.
Inciting incident
Upon learning of Jeong-Suk’s relationship with Jung-Min and Seo In-Ho, Jeon So-Ra is visibly upset and hurt that her boyfriend kept this a secret from her.
Jung-Min tries to talk to her multiple times and but she refuses to talk much and keeps avoiding him. He finally gets to address the issue properly during a car ride, when he tells her that she should consider the reason as to why he didn’t tell her about his mother being Doctor Cha.
She refuses to hear Jung-Min and later he tells her this truth was the reason why he kept asking to be nicer with his mother at work, to which So-Ra responds with an upset reply, asking him why she should have changed herself for someone else.
That’s when Jung-Min digs deep, saying So-Ra never tries to be more considerate of those not as competent as her, to be kind and compassionate to them. He also discusses how the future of their relationship is not something she’s ever shown any interest in.
So-Ra says he should know she’s not that kind of a person and the two have their first big fight then and there. While they must have drifted apart a bit now, the distance between So-Ra and Jeong-Suk has already decreased by a lot in Doctor Cha episode 10.
