In Ted Lasso season 3, Jack Danvers is the head of the VC that funds Keeley’s company. She is basically Keeley’s boss, who visits and forms an unexpected relationship with Keeley. Jodi Balfour plays Jack Danvers.
When Barbara first tells Keeley that Jack is visiting London, Keeley fails to remember who Jack is. She assumes that Jack is someone Barbara is dating. Barbara has to remind her who Jack is, making Keeley worry about how she is going to behave when Jack finally arrives.
Keeley is aware that she hasn’t been the best leader for her company, and once Jack finds that out, she may lose everything. Therefore, it’s Barbara who intends to talk things out with Jack.
Keeley and Jack’s first meeting
On the day of Richmond vs. West Ham, Keeley runs into a woman who helps her in the washroom. Keeley doesn’t see this woman’s face, but she takes note of her shoes.
Later, Keeley is introduced to Jack in front of everyone. Jack and Keeley both recognize each other, as they met in the washroom earlier. Apart from that, everyone thought Jack was a man, but it turns out that Jack is a woman.
During the match, AFC Richmond plays aggressively. Barbara and Keeley try to protect their image in front of Jack by claiming that they are not usually like that.
The damage control doesn’t work for very long. Keeley’s friend, Shandy, reveals that she has changed the bio line of their app to something vulgar just to attract more people, right in front of Jack. Keeley and Shandy’s conversation makes Keeley look like an irresponsible boss.
Keeley and Jack strike a chemistry
During their next meeting with Jack, both Keeley and Barbara present their opposing ideas for their firm. Jack unexpectedly agrees with Keeley about keeping the firm small.
Jack also identifies the toxic behavior of Shandy after watching how she reacts to criticism. Jack teaches Keeley a way to fire Shandy without breaking her heart.
She says this method is called the “compliment sandwich”, where you give someone bad news by sprinkling some compliments over it. Jack is a great judge of character, as she quickly recognizes the kind of person Shandy really is and the trouble Keeley is in.
After that meeting, Jack makes the first move and asks Keeley out for lunch. Later on, Keeley does fire Shandy, and she faces her wrath.
Jack and Keeley smell an awful stench in Keeley’s office. They look for the source and learn that Shandy had released a sheep into Keeley’s conference room. Keeley and Jack end up collecting sheep feces and giving it back to the sheep’s owner. Despite it being an awful chore, they both find it fun.
They spend the evening together talking about their past relationships. Keeley doesn’t try to touch on the topic of her recent breakup with Roy. She still admits that hanging out with Jack is the most fun she has had in months.
Keeley notices a spark between them and kisses Jack immediately. She apologizes at first, but Jack assures her that she shouldn’t, and they proceed to make out.
Though the show teases that Roy and Keeley made a bad choice by breaking up, whether Keeley and Jack are the endgame or just Keeley’s rebound remains to be seen.
