In Fool Me Once, Natalia Kostrzewa plays Izabella, Lily’s nanny, who becomes a suspect for Maya when she runs away after being confronted about Joe’s return.
The Burketts have employed Izabella’s family for years, even before Maya came. Hence, she has been working for Maya as Lily’s nanny.
Izabella’s suspicious moves
Maya makes use of the nanny cam gifted to her, and it gives her a big surprise when Joe appears in its footage, meeting their daughter Lily.
Joe visited Lily while Izabella was in the house taking care of Lily. This leads Maya to confront Izabella right away.
A scared Izabella denies knowing any of this. However, she instantly makes herself a suspect by attacking Maya with pepper spray and running away from the scene with the SD card that has the footage of Joe appearing on the nanny cam.
Izabella later deletes the footage of Joe’s appearance. When Kierce and Marty come to question her, she paints Joe in a good light while calling Maya crazy.
Izabella gives in
In the seventh episode, Maya catches Izabella and Luka with Joe’s shirt and much more that they are trying to hide.
Maya holds them at gunpoint and forces them to confess who they are working for and what their game is.
It’s then that Izabella confesses that they are on Judith’s payroll. Judith suspects that Maya had a hand in Joe’s death.
She paid Izabella and Luka to help her make it look like Maya is going crazy and force Maya to make a mistake.
Izabella and Luka used deepfake technology to mess with the nanny cam footage. Luka appeared in the video with Joe’s face, which was picked up from Maya and Joe’s wedding video.
In the finale, Shane drives Izabella and Luka far away and leaves them in the middle of nowhere, while Maya confronts the Burketts.
