Ivone Cruz: Reporting for Duty character explained

In Reporting for Duty, Ivone Cruz is the regional chief of Rio. Suzano and the chiefs of all the precincts in Rio report to her. Aline Borges plays Ivone Cruz.

Ivone Cruz is into fashion, taking care of herself, and being presentable all the time. She cares about the image of the precincts she looks after and demands results.

When Suzano catches Soaked Rat, a conference is called, in which Ivone assures everyone that the 8th PD is completely destroying the mafia.

Ivone takes all the credit for the work done here, and Suzano doesn’t say anything about it because he doesn’t want the mafia to think he is the problem that needs to be taken out.

Ivone’s personal life

Ivone Cruz is often accompanied by her pet dog and her faithful squire, Pedro Henrique Cruz, and her assistant, Buddy. She has been married to her partner, Leila, for the past 12 years.

Ivone is also into gossip, although she denies it, and is easily distracted by it. Ivone’s interest in gossip helps Suzano and the 8th precinct keep her busy when Pedro Henrique Cruz goes missing because of Suzano. Much like every politician, she avoids work as long as elections aren’t around.

Ivone Cruz’s decisions shape Suzano’s time

Suzano creates a mess in an attempt to find Pedro Henrique Cruz. This leads Ivone to suspend Suzano. Suzano is only welcomed back into the precinct once he seizes the mafia’s slot machines with Mantovani in Campo Manso.

However, Mantovani finds out that Suzano is in touch with Serrote. Suspecting that Suzano is working for the mafia, she puts him under arrest. Ivone reinstates Suzano as the chief of the 8th precinct once he proves he is not with the mafia and catches the whole gang himself.
