In the third season of Immature, Chhaya and Dhruv’s friendship is tested when Chhaya develops feelings for Dhruv, who has sworn off love. The third season is now streaming on Prime Video.

Plot summary
Since Susu is dating Nandini, the girl Kabir likes, Kabir and Susu are no longer on talking terms. Whenever they are in the same room, they do not miss an opportunity to take a jab at each other.
Dhruv is sick of his friends arguing all the time, which results in him spending more and more time with Chhaya from the very first day of the new school year.
Chhaya has realized that she has feelings for Dhruv. However, she does not know whether Dhruv reciprocates her feelings or not.
Kaavya thinks that Dhruv only considers Chhaya his friend, but she has a few tricks up her sleeve to rectify the situation.
Chhaya follows her friend’s advice and pretends to like the one boy in school whom Dhruv dislikes the most — Lalit. Chhaya intends to make Dhruv jealous.
However, this results in Lalit and his friends getting into a fight with Dhruv, Susu, and Kabir. While defending Chhaya, Dhruv gets carried away and ends up claiming that she is his girlfriend.
The exchange ignites the rumor mill at school. The fact that Dhruv stood up to a bully like Lalit for Chhaya’s sake leads everyone to speculate about their relationship.
The fight with Lalit’s group helps to smooth things between Kabir and Susu. They stop butting heads at every opportunity and go back to being friends.
When Chhaya finds out about Dhruv fighting Lalit for her, she starts believing that Dhruv likes her. However, she wants Dhruv to confess his feelings to her.
Dhruv fails to understand what Chhaya wants. He then apologizes to her, thinking that she is upset with him because he called her his girlfriend.
The apology makes Chhaya realize that Dhruv sees her as a friend and nothing more. He stood up to Lalit because he was being a good friend.
However, Chhaya is not ready to give up. She is determined to confess her feelings to Dhruv, and Valentine’s week seems like the perfect time to do it.
At the same time, Susu wants to break up with Nandini, as their relationship is quite toxic. Kabir, thinking that he will get to date Nandini if Susu breaks her heart, encourages him to end the relationship during Valentine’s week.
Susu breaks up with Nandini, but he unwittingly informs her of Kabir’s influence on his decision. An infuriated Nandini now wants nothing to do with either of them.

A confession of love
Kaavya gives Chhaya yet another piece of her infamous love advice. She advises Chhaya that she should first get Dhruv, who has sworn off love, to like the idea of dating.
To do that, Chhaya must send him gifts and notes as his secret admirer. Dhruv sees his peers celebrating love and decides that he is not going to be a part of the celebrations.
However, when he keeps receiving sweet notes and gifts from his secret admirer all week, he warms up to the idea of dating. Eventually, he admits to Chhaya that he wants to meet his admirer.
Chhaya then tells Dhruv that she knows who his secret admirer is. She calls him to a cafe to meet the girl behind these gestures.
There, Chhaya reveals the truth to Dhruv. She finally tells him that she loves him and that she has been trying to confess her feelings for a long time now.
Rejection and heartbreak
Dhruv is excited to meet his secret admirer, but when he realizes that it is none other than Chhaya, he feels disappointed and frustrated.
He refuses to believe that Chhaya loves him. For Dhruv, Chhaya is just his best friend, and he thinks that she is unnecessarily complicating their relationship.
On top of that, he does not like the way she chose to confess her feelings. He would have preferred it if she had been straightforward instead of pretending to be his secret admirer.
He comes to believe that Chhaya only cares about her own feelings and does not take into consideration what he feels.
He calls her selfish and breaks her heart by making it clear that he does not even want to be her friend anymore.
Kaavya chooses the one who values her
Kaavya likes Kabir a lot and keeps trying to win his heart. However, Kabir is always mean to her, as he does not consider her pretty and has no desire to be with her.
The eleventh-grade students are tasked with planning a farewell for their seniors, and their teacher assigns Kaavya to work with Kabir and Susu.
When Kabir is rude, Susu tries to get him to be nicer to Kaavya. Susu keeps explaining to his friend that Kaavya is a great girl and that he should value her.
By the time Kabir understands how good Kaavya has been to him, Kaavya realizes that she has been chasing the wrong boy all along. She then chooses to date Susu.
Once again, Kabir witnesses Susu kissing the girl he likes, and he becomes just as angry as he was at the beginning of the season.
Dhruv realizes his feelings
For the farewell preparations, Dhruv and Chhaya are made to work together, much to their annoyance. Caught in the middle of their feud is Nandini, their third partner.
A conversation with Nandini leads to Dhruv realizing that he treated Chhaya harshly. As her friend, he should not have judged her for her feelings.
Dhruv then tries to apologize to Chhaya and be her friend again, but Chhaya is too angry with him to listen to what he has to say.
Their group is tasked with buying gifts for their seniors. When Nandini impulsively spends the gift money on expensive vases, Chhaya decides to make portraits for their seniors.
At the last minute, someone ruins all the portraits and all of Chhaya’s efforts go to waste. Dhruv then makes a video to show their seniors how diligently Chhaya worked for them.
Everyone acknowledges Chhaya’s hard work, and she does not lose face. Later, Dhruv also apologizes to her, but Chhaya is not certain if they can still be friends.
As Dhruv and Chhaya say goodbye to each other, Dhruv thinks about all the time he has spent with Chhaya and realizes that he has feelings for her.
He runs back to her, hugs her, and tells her that he loves her. Chhaya hugs him back and smiles, as she is happy that her best friend reciprocates her feelings.
