How does Marie Moreau survive in Gen V?

Marie Moreau is a freshman at God U. with blood manipulation powers who gets dragged into a conspiracy that involves experimentation on supes.

Marie and a few other students uncover a facility called ‘The Woods’ where experiments are being carried out on supes, one of them being Sam, Luke “Goldenboy” Riordan’s brother.

They later discover that Dean Indira Shetty is overseeing the facility and that a scientist named Dr. Edison Cardosa was tasked with producing a virus that only affects supes.

While going through Indira’s office, Marie and Jordan find records of the plane crash which was brought down by Homelander, and see that Indira’s family were passengers on that plane. That tragedy gave birth to an intense hatred for supes within Indira,

After finding out the truth, Cate pushes Indira to kill herself. The others including Marie do not agree with what she did, or her thoughts on how they should fight back.

Earlier, she approached Vic Nueman and told her about the virus that Dr. Cardosa developed, hoping that Vic would do the right thing. Unfortunately, she didn’t know Vic’s true nature and pointed her straight to a strategic weapon that she could use in her favor.

Marie tries to convince Cate that there is a more peaceful option during the rampage at the University. When that doesn’t work, she has no choice but to fight back against the supes that are going crazy.

When she sees Cate about to use her powers on Jordan, she manipulates the blood in his forearm and causes it to explode. Homelander arrives moments after, and to Marie’s surprise, criticizes her.

Homelander calls Marie an animal for attacking her own kind and then fires his laser vision straight at her chest. She later wakes up in a hospital room with Andre, Jordan, and Emma.
