In From the Ashes, Heba is a school bully who is punished for a crime she did not commit.
Heba is one of the school bullies who torments Amira every day. She envies Amira’s achievements and despises her for being the perfect student.
Heba makes the lives of many girls very difficult, but since the principal never takes action against her, Heba’s bullying worsens every day.
On top of that, even the other students do not stand up to Heba because they are all scared of being targeted by her.
Heba never imagined that her thoughtless actions would one day make her a murder suspect and ruin her life.
The consequences of Heba’s bullying
Heba’s school record is filled with offenses. She, along with her friends, repeatedly breaks the school rules.
Instead of reflecting and attempting to improve, she accuses teachers of favoritism and attempts to cheat in exams.

Heba not only dislikes Amira for being the student she herself cannot be but also because she believes that Amira got her and her friends into trouble.
One day, when Heba and Mashael went to the same bathroom to speak on the phone, the teachers caught them and reprimanded them for violating school rules.
Heba believes that it was Amira who reported them, and she hates her for that, which makes her the perfect scapegoat to take the fall for Amira’s death.
Hayat reveals to Heba that it was her friend Mona who reported her and Mashael, not Amira. This results in Heba turning against her friends.
As Hayat had expected, Heba’s friends then inform Hayat that Heba had the time and the opportunity to lock Amira in the storeroom.
Heba admits that she bullied Amira, but she claims that she did not lock her in the storeroom that day. No one believes Heba.
Heba, who was going to graduate in a month, is expelled. Furthermore, she is charged with intimidation and manslaughter.
It is Rana who rescues Heba from being punished for Amira’s murder. She turns herself in, leading to Heba getting released from prison.
Heba realizes that even though she did not cause Amira’s death, she had hurt her for a very long time, but the realization comes too little, too late.
Heba does not go back to school. When the film ends, she is seen dealing drugs on the streets.
