In Blood Coast, Franck Murillo is a criminal who is on a mission to avenge his son’s death. Nicolas Duvauchelle plays Murillo.
Franck Murillo was put in prison by Lyès. However, after learning about the death of his son, Murillo escapes custody the day he is taken to his son’s funeral.
Two months after his escape, the authorities in Venezuela sent the police of Marseille the photos of a corpse completely burned. Next to the corpse, the papers and personal belongings of Murillo were discovered.
The whole of Marseille believed Murillo died, except for Alice Vidal, who comes to Marseille in hopes of avenging her father, whom Murillo killed while escaping, after discovering Murillo and his partner Hamadi’s prints on a weapons shipment in Paris.
Murillo’s mission
Lyès learns about Murillo’s return after following Fanny Santiago, a member of Murillo’s team. Murillo and Tarek Hamadi, the Indian, are targeting Ali Saïdi, the multimillionaire who runs the drug market in Marseille.
Lyès’ team understands that Hamadi is after Ali’s business, but they don’t know what Murillo wants from Ali. Murillo should be after Lyès, as he is the one who put Murillo behind bars.
Lyès’ team suspects that it has to do with his son. Alice and Lyès investigate the location where Murillo’s son died. A bar owner there tells them that Ali was present at his bar the day Murillo’s son died. Someone came to assassinate Ali that day.
Ali survived, but Murillo’s son got caught in the gunfight and died. Assessing the bullet that killed Murillo’s son results in Lyès’ team finding out that it’s the same bullet that Hamadi, the Indian, uses, which suggests the Indian is responsible for Murillo’s son’s death.
The Indian is manipulating Murillo into doing his bidding by telling him that Ali was behind his son’s death. Hence, Murillo is working with the Indian to take Ali down.
The fate of Murillo at the end of season 1
Lyès’ team sends Murillo the message that the Indian is responsible for his son’s death through his mother. Murillo is lured into a trap. Alice, who has been actively seeking revenge on Murillo, gets a chance to kill him.
However, Alice decides to let Lyès arrest him instead. Lyès’ team is celebrated for Murillo’s arrest, while Alice tries to find peace after avenging her father.
