In The Claus Family 3, Norah helps Felix, a skier who struggles to win his parents’ love and approval. Celest Cornelis plays Felix.
Felix is the same age as Norah, but unlike her, he is not allowed to act his age. While Norah gets to enjoy the vacation with her family, Felix has to ski all the time, as he needs to train for an upcoming qualifying race.
When Felix sees Norah’s family enjoying each other’s company, he wishes he could do the same. However, his trainer teaches him that winning is the only thing that matters, so training should be his top priority.
A lonely winner
Norah is not a good skier, and Felix leaves no opportunity to show her that he is much better than her. He bullies and mocks Norah for being afraid of heights.
Jeff tries to teach him that he should be helping Norah instead of making fun of her, but Felix listens to his coach, who tells him that winners should focus on winning and not helping others. Felix then challenges Norah to race him, and Norah accepts the challenge.
As Norah uses the snow globe to reach the chalet on top of the mountain first, she overhears Felix, who did not expect Norah to reach there before him, telling his trainer that he wants to be with his family.
Felix is lonely, but his trainer does not let him go home, as he needs to win the race to be a champion. Norah feels bad for him and decides to take him to his parents using the snow globe.
At home, Felix hears his parents’ conversation. Felix’s father, who is a champion skier, wants his son to follow in his footsteps. He does not care about what Felix wants; he only cares about him winning. He even states that he is going to disown Felix if he does not win.
The conversation makes Felix believe that he needs to win at any cost, as that is the only way he can earn his parents’ love and approval. To win the race, he steals the snow globe and betrays the one person who tried to help him.
Learning the right lesson
Norah outsmarts Felix and gets the snow globe back. She locks Felix in the chalet but comes to save him later. Angry and upset, Felix steals the globe again and ends up falling off a cliff. Instead of letting Norah pull him up, he continues risking his life to get the globe.
It is Norah who convinces Felix to let go of the globe by telling him that his life is more important than any qualifying race. She saves Felix’s life once again and befriends him, even though her family loses the globe because of him.
The next time Felix sees Norah struggling to overcome her fear of heights, he decides to help her instead of participating in the qualifying race. Felix has learned that working together with friends is more important than winning, and that is when he becomes a true winner.
