Diyar falls in love with Ada, but he loses her when his relationship with Zaman is revealed. In Another Self, Aytaç Şaşmaz plays Diyar.
After dating Toprak for a while, Ada breaks up with him, as Toprak, who is struggling to manage his relationship with his daughter and Ada, keeps breaking his promises to Ada.
Ada, heartbroken after her breakup, meets a patient named Diyar, an artist whom she treats after he gets into an accident.
Diyar pursues Ada
From the moment Diyar is brought to the hospital, Ada feels drawn to him. Diyar also immediately develops a crush on her.
While Ada is hesitant to date so soon after her breakup with Toprak, Diyar keeps pursuing her, drawing pictures of her and flirting with her.
Although Ada is attracted to him, she rejects him each time, partly because of her recent breakup and partly because she is his doctor and older than him.
Eventually, Diyar, who is in a rush to leave the hospital, gets discharged without saying goodbye to Ada, and Ada keeps Diyar’s drawing close to her.
Ada then runs into Diyar at a club she impulsively visits and finds out that he speaks Spanish. Ada asks him to translate Spanish books she needs for her research, and he agrees.
They start working together, and though Ada wants to keep their relationship strictly professional, Diyar’s persistence wears her down, and they eventually start dating.
A broken bond
Diyar’s mother was sick and decided to have Diyar, even if it meant risking her life. She passed away while giving birth to him.
Diyar’s father, Zaman, was devastated after her death. He then turned his focus on finding ways to heal others by traveling across the globe.
Zaman managed to learn a lot and help several people, but he was not able to be a good father to Diyar, who was raised by his aunt.
Diyar grew up believing that his father kept his distance because he blamed him for his mother’s death. Then, Diyar’s aunt died, leaving Diyar all alone.
Zaman tried to mend his relationship with his son, but it was too late. Suffering from the loss of his aunt, the only family he had, Diyar packed up his bags and left.
Zaman is still trying to earn Diyar’s forgiveness, but all Diyar wants from him is his share of the family property, which he intends to sell.
Diyar suspects that Ada is working with Zaman but never asks her about it, fearing that his father’s involvement would ruin his relationship with Ada.
When Ada finally finds out that Diyar is Zaman’s son, she feels betrayed. Ada is emotionally exhausted, so she ends her relationship with Diyar.
Ada’s decision deeply hurts Diyar, who has fallen in love with her. While Ada does not love him, she cares about him and advises him to reconcile with Zaman.
Diyar then decides not to sell the family property. He finally asks Zaman why he abandoned him. To his surprise, he learns that Zaman has always loved him.
Zaman explains that he kept his distance because he feared he would not be a good father. He now realizes that it was the wrong choice.
Diyar forgives his father, and they start afresh. While Diyar does not get to be with the woman he loves, he finally gets his father’s love.
