In The Morning Show season 3, Cory keeps reminding Bradley of a favor he has done for her. The fifth episode of the third season reveals what the two are hiding.
When Alex backs out of joining Hyperion One‘s space trip, Cory convinces Bradley to take Alex’s place by reminding her of what he has done for her. The series shows glimpses of Bradley with dirtied hands when the favor is mentioned.
Bradley and Cory refrain from talking about this favor. The fifth episode reveals that their secret has to do with Bradley’s brother, Hal. Bradley made a move to save her brother, which would have jeopardized not only Bradley but the whole network. Cory stopped that from happening.
Bradley’s secret
After the passing of her mother and taking a break from her relationship with Laura, Bradley asks for more assignments. One of these sees her going inside the United States Capitol Building during the January 6, 2021, attack.
Bradley gets separated from her crew and decides to record the whole ordeal by herself on her mobile phone. Bradley captures a good amount of footage inside the building.
In the end, she records a man assaulting a cop. The attacker is revealed to be none other than her brother, Hal. Bradley is shaken once she sees Hal’s face.
Hal and Bradley take shelter in a room. After washing her hands, she confronts Hal, who gives reasons such as that he had friends coming for him there, that he was coming to see her, and that someone just grabbed him, forcing him to react.
Cory helps Bradley bury the footage
Upon learning that Hal is going to be a father soon, Bradley decides to protect her brother and his future. After all, he is all she has.
Bradley sends Hal away. Before showing Stella the footage, Bradley deletes the part where she catches Hal attacking a cop. Stella doesn’t notice the edit. She loves the footage anyway, and UBA broadcasts it.
Cory is all excited when the FBI contacts them, asking if they have footage of the attack on the cop, considering that Bradley could be nearby based on her reporting.
Bradley visits Cory and lets him know that she has deleted the footage because Hal is the assailant. The FBI is going to find out that Bradley deleted the footage purposefully once they see the video. She will then be questioned.
Since Bradley is a high-profile anchor, this will jeopardize the whole network. Cory understands that Bradley only has Hal now. Hence, he assures her that their lawyers are going to talk to the FBI and let them know that the video aired is all they have. As Bradley leaves, Cory tells her that he doesn’t want to hear a word about this again.
