Feeling insecure about her relationship with Shih-chieh, Chu Wei attempts to improve the situation, but her efforts backfire. Kimi Hsia plays Chu Wei.
Chu Wei fell in love with Shih-chieh when he was her professor in college. The two of them eventually got married.
However, a few years down the line, their marriage loses its spark, with Shih-chieh being busy with work all the time, leaving Wei sexually dissatisfied.
Wei’s discontentment
Wei and Shih-chieh do not want children, but Wei’s mother keeps pressuring her to have a baby, as she believes that a marriage without children cannot last long.
Her mother’s constant nagging gets to Wei at times. The fact that Wei and Shih-chieh’s relationship is not what it used to be does not help.
Although Shih-chieh is still as caring as ever, he does not have time for Wei, resulting in Wei becoming insecure about Shih-chieh not wanting her anymore.
Wei starts questioning Shih-chieh’s love for her. She grows jealous of Shih-chieh spending all his time with a student, Annie, but she does not talk to him about her feelings.
Wei’s friend, Lisa, mentions a tantra class that helped her and her partner. Wei wishes to try the class with Shih-chieh to rekindle their relationship.
However, Shih-chieh refuses to accompany her, and Wei attends the class without him. After the class, she gets drunk with Lisa and her partner.
That night, she comes close to cheating on Shih-chieh with Lisa and her partner, but she leaves before things can escalate.
Wei, burdened by guilt for keeping this from Shih-chieh, decides to confess and tells him about everything that happened.
A positive shift
Once she confesses the truth to Shih-chieh, he gets so upset that he refuses to talk to Wei for days. Wei keeps trying to mend their differences, but to no avail.
Additionally, Wei suggests couples counseling. When he refuses to listen, she finally opens up about her insecurities.
That night, Shih-chieh realizes that Wei’s jealousy was not unfounded. Annie attempts to seduce him, and although he rejects her advances, he finds himself attracted to her.
This leads to Shih-chieh finally talking to Wei about their problems. Later, he agrees to try counseling when he realizes that Wei simply wanted to spend time with him.
As they both put effort into their relationship, they eventually return to how they used to be when they first fell in love.
Wei’s relationship with her mother also improves when she comes to know that her mother’s situation is not very different from her own.
With her life changing for the better, Wei finally finishes and publishes the book she has been working on for years.
