Caspar’s connection with the aliens in Invasion season 2 explained

In the second season of Invasion, Caspar’s friends suspect that Caspar’s connection with the aliens has changed him, which makes his friends doubt if he is being controlled by the enemy.

Jamila watched Caspar die in the first season of Invasion. Then, in the second season, she keeps having strange dreams. She sees Caspar in her dreams and talks to him. This leads her to believe that Caspar is still alive.

She runs away from home to find him. Monty, Penny, Alfie, and Darwin join her. Eventually, they find Caspar in a hospital in Paris. While they are happy to see him alive, they find it strange that he survived.

The hospital was earlier attacked by aliens and had to be evacuated. Caspar’s doctors had to leave him behind, as he was in a coma and could not be moved. The hospital was wrecked, but the aliens did not harm Caspar, who woke up during the attack.

Seeds of doubt

Caspar reunites with Jamila, but he does not know what happened to him. He cannot answer his friends’ questions, but he does tell them that there are other children like him.

Those children also share a connection with the aliens and were being kept in the same hospital. Caspar believes that those children might be the key to defeating the aliens.

It soon becomes evident to Caspar’s friends that he has changed. Instead of using his connection with the aliens to help them get away from danger, he leads them straight to the aliens. He does not even have the memories of the time he spent with Jamila.

Caspar unwittingly puts his friends in danger

Monty starts suspecting whether Caspar is on the aliens’ side now, but Jamila trusts Caspar, so she does not listen to Monty. Caspar and his friends find the other children, and that is when even Jamila starts doubting Caspar.

Caspar’s doctors are shocked to see him alive and cannot ignore the possibility of Caspar being controlled by the aliens; his connection with them might not be similar to that of the other children.

Dr. Gabriel informs Monty that they could not break Caspar’s connection because it ran deeper. Furthermore, Jamila finds out that the children were calling someone else, not Caspar.

While all the children are affected by Nikhil’s interaction with the alien entity, Caspar is the only one unaffected. Jamila then starts questioning whether Caspar is working for the aliens now. Even Caspar does not trust himself.

Is Caspar being controlled by the aliens?

Caspar then meets Mitsuki in the hive mind of the aliens, the mothership, the place where Caspar was before he woke up. He believes that if they hit the light that he sees whenever he travels to the mothership, they will be able to hit all the aliens, as the light connects all of them.

He works with the WDC to form a plan of attack. It is Trevante who goes to the mothership and joins Caspar in defeating the aliens. As Caspar knows the place, he will be guiding Trevante.

However, Caspar’s eyes shine for a second when he is not facing Trevante, which suggests that he is being controlled by the aliens, just as his friends had suspected. Instead of winning the war for humans, Caspar might make them lose it.
