Plot summary
Lyès and his team successfully bust a drug deal and learn about new players in the market. Everyone fears the man who hired these people who are selling these drugs.
One of the two men Lyès has arrested also tells Lyès about this man’s associate, who looks like an Arab; people call him the Indian.
Franck Murillo, who is supposed to be dead, is behind these drug deals. The Indian informs Murillo about the drug deal that went wrong. Murillo is not concerned about Lyès right now. Their priority is Kamel Saïdi, the nephew of Ali Saïdi.
Ali Saïdi runs the drug business in Marseille. No one dares to touch him. However, Murillo is after Ali because he thinks Ali is responsible for his son’s death. The Indian, on the other hand, plans to steal Ali’s business first. Murillo and the Indian are selling drugs on Saïdis’ turf to trigger Ali and make him come to Marseille.
Meanwhile, Alice Vidal, the daughter of Pierre Vidal, an excellent cop who was killed by Murillo, comes to Marseille and joins Lyès’ team. She surprises Lyès on the very first day by arriving at the place where Lyès and his team are chasing a lead on the Indian.
Alice sees Murillo that day but doesn’t inform the team. Kamel is the one who is lured there and killed by Murillo. Kamel’s death brings Ali to Marseille.
Following Kamel, Murillo also takes out Ali’s other nephew, Foudil. Ali warns Lyès to take care of this, or he will do it his way. Lyès and Ali are childhood friends. Lyès has made a deal with Ali.
Since Ali has a monopoly in the drug business, competition and crime are down. Hence, it helps the cops, and that’s why Lyès won’t arrest Ali.
Lyès and Alice continue investigating the Indian. They blackmail Peretto, one of the drug dealers they caught earlier, using a case from the past against him.
The drug dealer gives them the location of a brothel in Spain, where the Indian hangs out. At the brothel, Lyès and Alice come across Fanny Santiago, who is part of Murillo’s team and has an international warrant issued against her.
Lyés can’t arrest Fanny because he owes her. They had an affair, and she stopped Murillo from killing Lyès the day Lyès betrayed his team of cops.
Lyès and Alice follow Fanny and discover that Murillo is still alive. Lyès is in shock, and he confronts Alice because he now knows that Alice coming here is no coincidence. Alice admits that she knew about Murillo.
Another one of the drug dealers gives Lyès an address where they find more of the Indian and Murillo’s drugs. Lyès’ team seizes it, making things difficult for Murillo and the Indian.
The Indian makes his move by targeting Audrey, a member of Lyès’ team. They blackmail Lyès into giving them their stash back. Audrey breaks free, and Lyés doesn’t let the Indian have the stash.
Murillo, on the other hand, visits Ali and attempts to take him out, only to fail. Unfortunately, Ali loses his sister during this attack. Murillo makes his presence known, and the police commissioner, Fabiani, scolds Lyès’ team for keeping everyone in the dark, especially Alice, who is told to submit her transfer letter the next day.
Lyès’ team tries to figure out what Murillo is after. The Indian, who is identified as Tarek Hamadi, wants to take over Ali’s business, but they don’t know Murillo’s motive.
The team suspects whether it has to do with his son’s death. They go to the location of his son’s death and find out that Murillo’s son lived nearby. The owner of a bar there might know if Ali had anything to do with the death of Murillo’s son.
Lyès promises Fabiani that he will catch Murillo. He needs two days and Alice. Fabiani shows faith in him and allows him to carry out his investigation. Lyès thinks only Fanny can lead them to Murillo, so they investigate her.
Alice makes a shocking discovery when she meets Fanny’s father. It turns out that Fanny has a six-year-old daughter named Zoé, who could be Lyès’ daughter as well.
In the meantime, Lyès’ team learns about Saïdis’ involvement in kidnapping, assault, and unlawful confinement of minors. Lyès gives Ali a heads-up that an arrest warrant is coming for him.
Lyès and his team follow Fanny and her daughter, and they take them to Murillo and the Indian’s hideout. Ali’s team also shows up and charges before Lyès’. Lyès’ team finds Fanny and Zoé. Fanny is taken away, while Zoé will now stay with Fanny’s father.
Lyès plans to bait Ali to lure Murillo out. He tells Fabiani that they should arrest Ali for using minors. The people who are going to testify against Ali are killed by Ali’s loyal soldier, Tobias. Lyès can’t use Ali as bait anymore, but he remembers that they have a witness who can explain why Murillo is after Ali.
Blood Coast ending explained in detail:
Why is Murillo after Ali?
Lyès and Alice head to meet Abdel, the owner of the bar near where Murillo’s son died. Abdel reveals that Ali was present the day Murillo’s son was shot. The truth is that someone came to kill Ali, and Murillo’s son was caught in gunfire.
Lyès’ team identifies the weapon that killed Murillo’s son. It is the same used by the Indian. It turns out that the Indian has killed Murillo’s son. He pinned the blame on Ali and is now using Murillo to take over Ali’s business.
Does Lyès catch Murillo and the Indian?
The Indian begins taking over Ali’s business now that Ali is under arrest. Lyès’ team informs Murillo’s mother about the Indian’s hand in killing Murillo’s son.
Lyès’ team gets hold of the Indian with the help of one of their informants. The Indian is killed by the people he tried to boss around. He had ordered them to bring Ali’s stock to him.
Lyès talks to these kids and instructs them to tell everyone that the Indian is still alive. If they do what they say, they won’t investigate this case. Keeping the Indian’s death a secret helps Lyès and his team lure Murillo in.
Murillo is caught by Alice, who controls her emotions and doesn’t kill Murillo right away.
Why is Lyès arrested?
Lyès’ team is celebrated for the big arrest. Alice isn’t being sent to Paris. She begins dating Lyès, who hasn’t opened the reports of the DNA test that he has done to find out if he is Zoé’s father.
Miranda, an officer from the Internal Affairs Department, had been investigating Lyès’ team and desperately trying to find a way to take them down for having a relationship with the likes of Ali.
Miranda gathers enough material to blackmail some of Lyès’ team members. For his team, Lyès gives one of his teammates a confession. The teammate hands it to Miranda after a fight.
Miranda presents the confession, which also mentions Ali, to the District Attorney, who doesn’t want Ali to be arrested. The DA allows Miranda to have Lyès.
The DA introduces Miranda to Mr. Jaborska, a lawyer from whom Lyès’ team stole a case file on Perreto earlier. Mr. Jaborska and Perreto have joined hands to report a series of major infringements by Lyès. It involves burglary, extortion, threats, and blackmail.
While Ali is let go, Miranda goes to Lyès to arrest him. The DA explains that they are making this compromise to bring peace back to Marseille.
