Plot summary:
Nana has had a miserable time ever since she gave birth two months ago and it all comes to a head at the daycare she attends at church.
She still hasn’t told Mathias that the baby is his and hasn’t chosen a name for the girl because she cannot decide on one.
She moves into a smaller apartment that she can afford because she doesn’t have a job anymore.
Simone tells her that the clinic is undergoing renovations that have been severely delayed and they don’t have enough doctors to treat patients.
Nana visits the clinic and asks Helle for her job back because she cannot bear to stay at home taking care of the baby all day.
Helle asks Nana to start the next day, but that means finding a babysitter for her child. Nana visits her mother to ask for her help and after some persuasion, Lise agrees.
At work, Nana meets Hampus, a new hire who is considered just as good as her at the job. Lise moves in with Nana because she doesn’t want to commute every day.
Nana runs into Mathias at the supermarket because he is in town for his parents’ silver wedding anniversary.
He sees the baby and Nana sees this as her chance to tell him the truth but she chickens out. She sets up another meeting but sees him kissing someone else outside and chooses not to tell him.
Lise asks Nana to come back early one day because she has to go to a concert but Nana forgets and has to rush to the fair where Lise left the baby with a drunkard.
The next morning, they get into an argument and Lise lets slip that Nana’s father is actually in Bagsværd.
Lise leaves and Nana has to sneak her baby into the clinic and hide her away so that no one else spots her.
Helle and the others find her in the cellar and Nana is forced to admit that she brought the baby despite being asked not to.
After returning home she watches her mother give an interview on television where she admits that raising a child by herself was very lonely at times.
Nana gets the courage to do what needs to be done and heads over to Mathias’s parent’s wedding anniversary celebration.
She tells him that the baby is his and that she stole his sperm and got herself pregnant. He asks her to leave right after Nana meets Mathias’s girlfriend, Lucia.
Mathias gets drunk and sends a message to Nana telling her that he’s going to report her. Nana is genuinely worried about going to prison and this impacts her work a little.
She is constantly competing with Hampus for Helle’s attention as the star employee, while Helle has problems of her own because of all the renovations.
Helle gives Nana one final chance after her debacle with the baby at the clinic but Mathias shows up drunk to make things worse.
Before they can have a proper conversation, Lise shows up with the baby so Nana has to take care of her while Mathias leaves.
They meet up and have an honest conversation about the situation. Mathias says that he won’t report her and also gets a chance to bond with his daughter.
He convinces Nana to look up her father in Bagsværd and spots his hotdog van at the town square but doesn’t talk to him.
Mathias invites her to dinner with the baby as Lucia prepares Paella for them. Lucia asks Nana why she stole the sperm and Nana explains everything she went through back then.
Lucia decides to get her egg reserve checked and goes to the clinic. The scan shows that everything is normal but Nana spots that Lucia is pregnant and doesn’t inform her.
She believes that she has a chance to get back with Mathias and this news would ruin everything for her.
Helle is struggling because the company is in debt thanks to the renovations she under-budgeted for.
She tells everyone that they are bankrupt and Hampus takes her home. Nana visits her father in his van but doesn’t tell him who she is.
He spots her crying and gives her some useful advice whether she wants it or not.
Lise sends a message to Nana saying she has to leave and ask Mathias to watch the baby. Nana returns home and after putting the baby to sleep, has some wine with Mathias.
Ending explained:
A new chapter at work
Nana gets a message telling her that there is an important meeting at work. Helle announces that they are no longer bankrupt because they have a new investor.
Hampus is revealed as the new co-partner and CFO and he goes into Nana’s office to bury the hatchet since he is her boss now.
He also asks her to stop lying to her clients but Nana defends her mirroring technique as something necessary that eases the client’s mind.
Chaos at home
Mathias is unsure about his feelings after he and Nana slept with each other and mentions that he forgot his boxers at her place.
Lucia shows up at Nana’s place to install the mobile that they made for the baby and she tells Nana that she plans on surprising Mathias by suggesting they move back to Copenhagen.
Nana doesn’t like that idea so she leaves the boxers in plain view for Lucia to find it. Lucia storms out and Mathias turns up at Nana’s place later.
She asks him to choose her but he just wants to process everything. Lucia shows up and says that she got a flight back to Guatemala.
Fighting for family
Nana tells Mathias that she has a way for him to fix things but they have to rush to the airport.
They catch Lucia and Nana reveals that she is pregnant with Mathias’s child. They embrace each other and Nana leaves.
Before she goes away, Mathias catches up to her and tells her that he still loves her and they will remain family forever.
Nana attends a party celebrating their clinic’s revival and then realizes that there is something she needs to do.
She takes the baby and visits her father, Freddy. She tells him who her mother is and finally gives her baby the name Magarethe.
Freddy’s eyes well up with tears at finally meeting his daughter and his granddaughter while Nana is thankful for having family by her side.
