Avril: The Influencer character explained

In The Influencer, Avril Donado Mucci is the girlfriend of Salvador Sarabia. Luna Baxter plays Avril.

Avril is the spoiled daughter of a rich father who lives with Salvador in Miami. She relies quite a lot on her father’s money, and without it, she is helpless.

Even though her boyfriend, Salvador, seeks to advance in life based on his merits, she often mentions his name to her father and finds ways to help him get a push without having to do much.

Avril’s nature

Even though Avril dresses neatly and pretends to be nice to everyone, in reality, she is arrogant. She often looks down on people and is rude to those who can’t match her social status. Maritza and her friends refer to her as Miss Congeniality.

Avril is also quite insecure. She leaves Miami and joins Salvador at his new pizzeria after learning that he is trusting Maritza a lot more than he should. Her best friend, Mafe, often reminds her that she can be a bit too much.

Avril pretends to be nice to Maritza and Teddy

In the past, Avril has lost decent boyfriends because she always overthinks, misinterprets situations, and ruins things for herself.

Even though Salvador loves Avril, he knows how she can be sometimes. Hence, he advises Maritza to stay away from Avril as much as she can.

Avril and Salvador’s break up

Salvador tolerates Avril’s antics until she costs him the chance to expose Aldo Suárez, Salvador’s father’s lifelong rival, who stole Sarabia’s pizzeria chain from them.

Salvador had found out about the fraud that Aldo has committed and wanted to win back their chain legally after exposing him.

However, Avril’s father buys the chain from Aldo, and it returns to the family as Avril and Salvador are dating. Avril plans to surprise Salvador, but he feels cheated after hearing about this. Following this, the two officially break up.

Avril’s fate at the end of season 1

Avril continues working for Aldo and Sarabia’s pizzeria. At the same time, she runs a smear campaign against Salvador’s pizzeria and especially Maritza. Avril soon finds herself in trouble when her father is accused of money laundering.

With her father in prison, Avril becomes completely helpless. She knows she will soon run out of money. She also receives threats claiming that her campaign against Salvador’s pizzeria and Maritza will be brought to light.

Before Salvador can find out about this from elsewhere, Avril goes to him and apologizes. Maritza and Salvador forgive her after having her record a video in which she admits that she ran a smear campaign against them. Avril also drops the names of everyone involved apart from her.

Avril’s confession helps prove Maritza’s innocence. Maritza was put in prison for orchestrating a dangerous prank involving her stepbrothers. The names of her stepbrothers are also mentioned in Avril’s confession.

While Maritza’s life gets back on track, Avril finds herself in need of a job. Maritza offers Avril the opportunity to become an employee at Salvador’s pizzeria, Marizza Pizza. She gives Avril the duty of mopping the floors.

Maritza hopes that Avril will learn to not look down upon people after this experience. Avril, on her side, only seeks to win Salvador back by showing how hard-working she is and how good of a friend she can be to Maritza.
