Ending explained:
The traitor at MON5
Asli’s loyal and hardworking assistant, Nazli has been conspiring to bring Asli down for the entirety of As the Crow Flies season 2.
She is just as conspiring, conniving, and even more elusive in her plans than Asli was when she made Lale’s life a hellscape.
Nazli is the one who leaks the photos of Asli’s old, decrepit, and “poor” apartment while pinning the blame on the landlord who she claims must’ve done it out of a personal vendetta.
She also manages to convince Asli that Müge has been the one playing both sides, which eventually leads to Asli firing Müge.
Nazli later leaks online that Asli is pregnant with a married man’s baby, which is a fake rumor Asli had used to test if Müge is the traitor.
When Asli finds out her real identity, Nazli plays another ace up her sleeve — staging an assault and convincing others that she is the victim. However, she fails to make much out of it.
Lale’s return
Lale tries her best to enjoy her life outside of the world of news, but she struggles to do so. Selim reaches out to Kenan to get her back on the news scene.
When she hears about a dire development in the Middle East, she itches to get on top of it and finally agrees to return to the news with Kenan.
They begin working together at a smaller network but where they’ll be out of the claws of the money monsters and sharks. She gradually builds a strong show and the ratings see an incline.
Good journalism propels her show to the number 1 spot in the ratings. She finds her zeal back and becomes the queen of the news again. She gets the offer to get back on The Other Side.
However, the finale of As the Crow Flies season 2 sees Lale reject the offer to return to MON5. Instead, she recommends Yusuf Tunca to host The Other Side. Meanwhile, she decides to leave mainstream media.
Asli’s fate
Asli runs the show at MON5. She is initially met with many challenges and people all around her who want her out. Gül and Müge root for her downfall every waking moment.
However, she manages to jump back from the slump or the pit every time. She reinvents The Other Side by changing the format altogether, moving to social media trends as the tenets for her coverage.
Later, her photos of the old apartment were leaked online. Still, she turns this humiliating development on its head, doing a show covering it and embracing her humble and underprivileged beginnings.
Later still, she is backstabbed by Nazli, her assistant who reminds her of herself.
Her show’s ratings fall behind Lale’s and Güliz, the daughter of Sulhi whom Asli herself invited to Turkey and befriended to take down so many people, finally gives her the boot.
Her father and other higher-ups decide it’s time to take back Lale and fire Asli. She is fired and her last broadcast is her lowest point, as she rambles on incoherently, heavily drunk.
The ending of As the Crow Flies season 2 sees Asli work together with Gül, who she previously got fired from MON5, at another news network with a show that looks promising.
Lale & Kenan
Lale begins second-guessing her love life when she begins to have feelings for Kenan again. She becomes jealous of the women who approach her.
This messes up her brain and workflow, which causes her to avoid and ghost Kenan, fracturing their dynamic while she tries to keep the flame of her relationship with Selim burning.
However, she can’t lie to her for that long, nor can she hide it from others. Selim catches on to her feelings for Kenan and then hears her reminisce about her memories with him while drunk.
He decides he needs to leave and he finally asks for a divorce. Lale goes through with the split, with a devastated heart.
Later, she and Kenan have their misunderstandings cleared and their miscommunication sorted. The two come close again and get together by the end of As the Crow Flies season 2.
